“You Can Call Me Al” (with apologies to Paul Simon)

If you'll be my new family,
I can be your long lost pal.
I can call you mom or dad,
And when you call me, you can call me Al.
Call me Al.
Al was bought at a dog auction as a puppy by a Good Samaritan and surrendered to FBRN. He was adopted and adored by his new family. Years later, they had changes in their lives and reached out to FBRN to ask if we would find Al a home that would be able to give him the time they felt he deserved. We welcomed Al back with open arms.

Al loves people. Al loves kids, and he loves other dogs. Al is a very mellow Frenchie. He is the kind of dog you can easily take to work with you. He just wants to chill on his bed, with a Nylabone or a Kong. He is content to simply be with you. Al is a big fan of naps.

Al does not need a lot of exercise. He likes to do a daily two-block loop for his walk. That is plenty for him. He recently dropped a few lbs and does have a newfound spring in his step. Al enjoys going to the dog park, where he moseys along and likes to greet people. Al also enjoys wrestling multiple times a day with his foster Frenchie sister. Al tries to half-heartedly hump her, which, to his delight, whips her into a frenzy.

Al will let anyone take a toy or bone from his mouth. He has no issues with sharing his treasures. Speaking of toys, Al LOVES to decimate stuffies. He wreaks havoc upon them until they are reduced to a pile of shredded cloth and carnage. This pleases Al greatly. He likes to greet visitors at the door with an eviscerated toy in his mouth, as if to show off his handiwork.

Al is healthy. Al Is house trained. Al knows how to sit and how to shake. Al likes to sleep in the people bed, and he is fine sleeping in his crate if need be. Al also enjoys napping on the couch with his foster Frenchie sister. Al likes to be with his people. Al is gentle and goofy and sweet. Al’s most distinguishing characteristic is his Mickey Mouse shaped spot on his side. Also, Al grins when he is happy. He actually smiles!

Al's foster mom has this to say about him: “Al is the quintessential Very Good Boy. We all adore him. He gets along with everyone. He loves to play with other dogs. He loves kids. Al is a big ol’ love bug. Al deserves an amazing forever home, and we are going to make sure he gets just that.”

Al is patiently waiting for you to discover what a good boy he is, and has this to say about it:

Al is humming his ear worm in MN, waiting for you to come on by.

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.

FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
