"Cardi has shown us what unconditional dog love is (our other dog's love is not unconditional :) ). All she truly wants is to be right beside you, or on top of you, gazing into your eyes while you give her some loving.
She's such an easy dog - she sleeps a lot and follows her human's lead every time we move a muscle. Her favorite time of day is the morning when she gets to go into the backyard and sniff around to see what wildlife crawled through the yard the previous night. She absolutely loves to sunbathe in the dining room. She also loves, loves belly rubs! she'll roll right over when she sees you heading her way to get into position!

"I've also never had a dog that just goes limp in your arms - Cardi loves to be carried like a little baby and will literally hug your shoulder while you carry her. It is so precious. Honestly, my husband and I have fostered dogs for years and never come across a sweeter soul. Cardi is perfection, and whoever adopts her will definitely be winning the doggy lottery."

ABOUT CARDI

Cardi has several allergies and must remain on regular Cytopoint shots, daily Apoquel, current raw diet, supplements, Omega-3 Pet supplements.and have regular medicated baths. She is allergic to human epithelia (skin cells we shed) so must not sleep in the human bed. Cardi has a history of skin and ear infections that must be monitored for recurrence.

Cardi is a resource guarder so must never be around small children. She must be monitored during feeding and when toys are present. A slow intro is required if there are other dogs in the home.

Cardi had a nares resection on 07.11.2018. Her breathing must be monitored during exercise or play.

The newest girl on the available page is as sweet as a peach. In Cardi's previous life she was a breeding lady, and when she couldn't produce more puppies, she was put up for sale. She was taken in by a Good Samaritan with the best of intentions, but shortly after she came home with that person Cardi developed demodex mange and secondary infections. It was too much for the Good Samaritan to handle, so Cardi was surrendered to FBRN.

Right now Cardi is healing from a yeast infection in her paws and is finishing up a round of Ketoconazole. Cardi's forever home should expect to treat her allergies for the rest of her life and keep up with the necessary shots, foot soaks, and occasional antibiotics. Eternal vigilance is the key to managing a dog with allergies.

The good news is that this little lady is keen on kids and doesn't mind other dogs. When it comes to other dogs, she will typically keep to herself. Cardi loves to be able to keep her human in sight and follow them around the house. This companionship keeps her from getting anxious. As with any lady, Cardi loves her beauty rest and loves to loaf around with no cares. Instead of bon bons, Cardi prefers the occasional squeaky toy. She happens to think that her baths are spa sessions and has fallen in love with them. Even though her activity level is low, and she doesn't like much exercise because of her smushy face, she won't say no to a romp around the yard when there is a water hose involved. As a side note, Cardi has a unique talent. She is able to keep a balloon off the ground by bouncing it on her nose. Her favorite activity of all of these is snuggling with her human.

Cardi is housebroken like a proper Frenchie gal should be. She currently is not crated, but her previous home did crate her when they were gone at work daily. Cardi would be fine for educated first time Frenchie owners. She would thrive in a family that has dog-savvy children (do we leave the door open when we come in or leave the house? No, we do not. Do we tease the dog? No, we do not.). Cardi is gentle and will let the children play with her til their hearts are content. A family that has a lot of love and attention to give Cardi would be perfect. She flourishes when she is able to be close to her humans and receiving their love. Since she thrives on attention, Cardi would love to have someone that could work shorter hours or have a dog sitter/walker. She would be happy to adjust to going to the office with you.

Cardi's foster mom had this to say about her: "Cardi has shown us what unconditional dog love is (our other dog's love is not unconditional :) ). All she truly wants is to be right beside you, or on top of you, gazing into your eyes while you give her some loving. If you have been waiting for a sweet little peach of a Frenchie to come along, then look no further than Cardi. All she asks is that her new forever home to have an open heart and time and attention to give you. She promises to return your love and more. All that you need to do is fill out an application and be ready to pick Cardi up in the wild west of Texas if you are selected.

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.

FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
