Hang on to your latte, Chai has made her way to the available page. This grey-faced beauty is a little bit of spice and a lot of sweet! She was surrendered to FBRN after snapping at the young children in the home but has been nothing but delightful in her foster home without children.
Despite her age, Chai has plenty of energy to play! Her favorite games include fetch and tug-o-war. Her foster family reports that Chai has a stuffed hedgehog that she LOVES! She will bring it over for you to try to take from her and throw it, only to repeat this again and again. When she isn’t chasing her hedgehog, she enjoys finding a lap to snuggle in.
Due to her history with nipping at young children, Chai should not be around young children. She prefers to be the only pet as she does not get along with dogs or cats. Chai is not crate trained and does not enjoy being in the crate. Like many Frenchies, Chai has allergies and takes daily medication to help control her allergy symptoms.
Chai would do well in a home with lots of snuggles! She is happy with a walk at lunch time, though would love her people to be with her all day. She would do well in a home or apartment. She would probably adjust well to being brought to the office as well. A fenced yard is preferred for Chai to run and play but not required.
Chai’s foster dad has nothing but kind words for this sweet Frenchie: “Chai is a very loving girl with the sweetest demeanor. I hope the person that adopts her will want to spend all the time in the world with her. She will sleep in your bed and let you know she wants under the covers to cuddle with you. When you wake up in the morning she will be lying there like a little human with her head out of the covers. She is the sweetest girl I have had the chance to foster and deserves nothing but the best.”
If you’re ready to Chai the knot with this senior Frenchie, let us know by submitting an application! Chai looks forward to finding her forever family!
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
Chai has allergies and may require periodic Cytopoint shots, so adopters should be aware of this expense. Check with your vet for the cost, because prices vary. Symptoms of her allergies include skin and ear infections, so adopters should keep an eye out for any recurrence.
Chai has exhibited aggressive behavior that will require continued training to address her triggers. She is a resource guarder, so she must be monitored during feeding and when toys are present if there are other dogs around. She should be protected from jokesters who think it is funny to put their hands in her dish or otherwise try to get a rise out of her.
For their sake, she should not be introduced to small children. Chai has no patience with cats, so she should avoid them. She doesn’t like dogs, either, so she must remain an only dog. She also doesn't care for smoked oysters, but nobody does, so she should not be knocked for that.
Chai is an older dog and must not be allowed to jump on or off furniture to protect her spine. To keep her spine healthy, she gets a supplement.
You’re a good girl! With love, Erin
Wishing you all the best Chai! Elfe Shukla
I’ll check back Ms Chai to see when you’re up for adoption. I’ll bet you and my other Frenchie, Rocky, would make quite the pair! I’d spoil you rotten just like him. Lisa Bennett
Such a people's pig! My heart is with you forever, sweet girl. Always, Aprille
