Dasha just took a DNA test; turns out she’s 100% that Frenchie. You know the type—smart, sassy, and completely irresistible!
This lovely, curvy girl (all 30 pounds of her!) came to FBRN with heartworms and c-section scars, both signs that she was living a life far beneath her station as Queen of All She Surveys. Heartworm treatment is certainly no easy (leashed) walk in the park, but Dasha powered through and got a clean bill of health from the veterinarian (along with a spay). Currently, her only health concerns are allergies, which are controlled through a special diet and daily supplements. “Ain’t no thing,” says Dasha.
Dog trainers might describe Dasha as “dominant,” although she prefers “confident” and “knows what she wants.” And what she wants is to be an only dog, so that no one interferes with her getting ALL the petting…and cuddles, and treats, and snuggles. She’s a playful, carefree girl who enjoys car rides, walks, and bossing around her impressive collection of stuffed animals. But what she likes best is being with her people, whether it’s at the office, on a neighborhood walk, or curled up on the couch watching Netflix.
This queen doesn’t need an actual castle, but she’d love a fenced yard where she could romp around to her heart’s content. She is housebroken and crate-trained, and can be left alone for a few hours at a time with no problems at all. That said, she love love LOVES being with her people, so she’d be more than happy to accompany you to work, so long as she doesn’t have to share her space with less worthy canines. Dog-savvy kids suit Dasha just fine, but cats do not, as she is severely allergic to them.
Dasha’s foster mom has this to say about her bat-eared goddess: “Dasha needs to be with someone where she gets all the love and attention available. She is loving, playful, and loves to be on the go!”
Would you and Dasha make the perfect pair? Then don’t text us, tell us straight to our face by clicking on the link above and filling out an application to adopt. Just be prepared to travel—Dasha is pushing it like aye yi yi down in the great state of Louisiana, and will not be shipped.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
Dasha has several allergies and to keep her healthy, adopters should maintain her current raw diet and supplements. She is allergic to cats, so she must never be around them.
During her spay in our care, Dasha also had an umbilical hernia repaired. All went well!
For Dasha- Hope that heartworm treatment is going well and you get some special playtime! Erin Marziale
