Get ready to party because Disco is available for adoption! This handsome little nugget was taken in by FBRN when his previous owners could not afford young Disco's vet bills. Disco loves chewing on bones and going for car rides! He wants to always be at your side and he’s ready for any adventure. He's riding shotgun (from the backseat, safely strapped in) on any roadtrips you have going!
While in foster care, Disco had surgery performed to enlarge his nares which were almost completely closed. The surgery was successful, still, like all Frenchies, he should always be monitored to ensure his breathing remains healthy, especially in hot weather.
Disco is a typical puppy; full of curiosity about everything and with endless energy! But when he is ready, he loves to snuggle with his person. He responds well to correction and seems to know when it is time to settle down. While there are no children in his foster home, we think Disco would do well with dog-savvy children above the age of 7 or 8--responsible kids old enough to remember to close the door and the gates in the yard. Tell us about your children in your application. He gets along very well with other dogs and enjoys playing with the female Boston Terrier and female Bulldog in his foster home.
Disco will occasionally regurgitate when running and playing. It is not a common occurrence but it does happen and can also be triggered if he drinks water too fast. To help prevent this, Disco is fed only on a raised stand. His forever family should continue with this feeding technique and also keep Disco on a special diet with daily supplements. Disco just wants to make sure his forever family keeps him looking shiny and sleek!
Disco is housebroken and crate trained. He does not attempt to destroy anything in the house and has been nothing but a sweet, happy, rough-and-ready puppy in his foster home! Being the perfect little fella that he is, we think he would adapt to any family dynamic and would enjoy his life in just about any type of home environment.
Disco is full of life and enjoys stimulation so anyone who could give him lots of love, affection, and attention would be perfect. An active family who will walk him at least once a day would be ideal. Frenchie experience isn’t needed, though your interview with the foster family will go better if you have some education on the breed. Someone who is mostly home or who can accommodate lots of daily potty breaks is needed as his house training is a work in progress, and it would be a shame to interrupt that training. Daily exercise is also a must and a fenced yard would be ideal, but not required. Because of his puppy energy, a person or family who is ready to continue teaching manners and discipline is required. Tell us about your history with training your dog(s), either in a class or in individual sessions. Disco would be a great take-to-work dog, as long as your office can handle the absolute disruption this little hunk of cuteness would cause!
Here’s what Disco’s foster mom wants everyone to know about him, “Disco is truly the perfect little fella. Full of wonder at everything! His whimsical personality immediately draws you in as well as his beauty. Disco is smart, well behaved, athletic and sweet. Everyone who meets him just melts. What’s not to love? He will make a wonderful addition to any home. He adapts quickly and will show you love and devotion quickly. Be ready to get your groove on with this one as he will be hot to trot to find his everlasting special life.”
If you think you can handle all the puppy cuteness, please apply for Disco today. Keep in mind there will be lots of applications for this active little monkey, so take your time. Let us know why your home and family would be the perfect fit and be prepared to head to Louisiana! FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
Disco is dancing around with brachycephalic airway syndrome, a problem many Frenchies and short-snouted dogs have. He had successful nares (nostril-widening) surgery, to help him increase the air he gets into his body, but this active boy must--MUST--be carefully monitored during any hot weather or exercise. We urge you to google BAS to learn more and to consult your vet about the limitations Disco might have before you apply.
