Gemini has made her way onto the available page. This girl came to FBRN when the family that took her in was overwhelmed by her medical issues and the fact that they had a new little human in the household. They decided to contact FBRN to help her land in the best forever home possible.
Gemini has some incontinence issues along with allergies. She takes Apoquel and her skin looks amazing. She also takes Proin for her incontinence. Her foster mom is happy to report that she hasn't had an accident for over a week so it works well for her. Besides her medical issues, Gemini shows food aggression towards other dogs. She would be fine in a house that had a passive dog but no other animals. Gemini tends to be a dominant girl.
The good news is Gemini loves kids. She doesn't mind the commotion and wants to be part of their action. If they are building things or putting up a tent in the house, she wants to sit right in the middle of it. Gemini would prefer if she had a home with kids in it.
Gemini is crate trained. She has marked before, but is currently on an accident free streak (it might be reasonable to expect she will do the same in her new home--mark for a while, then settle down). She is good at going outside. This girl has never been to obedience training, but she's quite smart. Gemini would be best with people that have their own home. She is a very vocal girl, and the neighbors might complain if she moved into an apartment. She would do best with a fenced yard where she can run around and explore to her heart's content.
Don't let Gemini's age fool you. This girl is still quite active. She is very noisy and doesn't miss a thing that happens in her household. She loves running outside and playing with kids. She loves being near her people, but doesn't necessarily have to be all up in your business and on your lap. She understands what it's like to be a proper Frenchie lady. She will lay flat out on her back for belly rubs for as long as anyone chooses to offer them.
Gemini loves going for walks, however short they may be in the hot Louisiana sun. She also doesn't mind stuffies and bones. Gemini doesn't mind if you don't have any Frenchie experience, she's happy to teach you the ropes. This girl would do fine with someone that works at the office as long as she could have a yard to run around in to pass the evening away.
Gemini's foster mom had this to say about her: "Gemini is just a sweetheart. Her happy place is being with her people. She is especially excited when the kids play with her. She loves to go for walks and explore things outside. I know that she is going to bring someone a lot of happiness and she definitely deserves a loving home."
Hide your kids and hide your wife, cause the minute they see a picture of Gemini or read all about her; they will already be in love. If you think that you can give Gemini an amazing life where she can play and get belly rubs til the sun goes down, then all you need to do is fill out an application for her and be ready to pick her up if you are chosen as her family.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo. Except in rare or unusual cases, adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. In rare or unusual cases, FBRN may be able to assist in transporting a dog to a volunteer near the adopter's home, but the expense of transporting the dog must be the responsibility of the adopting party.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
