“We hope she has the opportunity to have a care free life after breeding for years. She has definitely found comfort being here in a highly attentive and loving home. She is always by my side. She is so loving to someone who is willing to let her love you. She loves to kiss a bunch...if you don't like kisses all of the time, you're not the one for her. She's a bit aggressive with her love and that's what makes her special. She is so beautiful and has the best soul. We love her. We just want her to have the life she deserves."

Gorgeous Gordita is ready to fly the coop and find the perfect forever home! This tiny retired mill mama is super smart and just as sweet as can be. If you are looking for a girl that will smother you with Frenchie kisses, follow you around the house, but is also ready to jump in the car and go for a camping trip, Gordita could be the girl for you!

While Gordita is very affectionate towards people and a bit dominant towards other dogs, she normally just goes with the flow and is a happy camper in general. She loves to play with her stuffed toys and Nylabones as well as play with the resident pups in her foster home. When she isn't playing or snuggling with the other pups, she loves to follow her favorite people around the house.

Like many female Frenchies, Gordita is a bossy girl. During meal time she will sometimes push out another dog if they aren't eating fast enough and she tends to want the toys that other dogs have. She will do well with a family that has other dogs, but slow introductions to other pets will be necessary and monitoring during meal time would be needed. It has taken some work, but Gordita does great with all of the other dogs (2 French Bulldogs and 1 Boston Terrier) in her foster home.

Gordita loves to run in the yard so her new home will need to have a yard for her to romp around in. The perfect home for Gordita will be one that has someone home most of the day as she loves human companionship. She might be ok going to the office with her new owners, but she does bark at people she doesn't know until she is comfortable with them. She can live in any type of home, condo, or apartment as long as it has a yard. Gordita will do best in a one level home. Due to her previous back injury she will need to be carried up and down stairs (or take a ride in the elevator), so keep this in mind if your home has stairs. Gordita can live with older, dog savvy children and would love to be in a home with other playful doggies as long as her new owners take the time to do slow introductions. As far as travel goes, Gordita can take a trip but doesn't enjoy long car rides.

Gordita's foster family has this to share about her, “We hope she has the opportunity to have a care free life after breeding for years.

If you have room in your heart and home for little Miss Gordita and would like to adopt her, please be prepared to travel. Gordita is being fostered in Indiana and will not be shipped.

FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.

ABOUT GORDITA:

Gordita has brachycephalic airway syndrome. She had stenotic nares resection on 08.14.2020, along with a growth removed from her forehead and spay. Gordita must wear a harness when going for walks, never a collar or choke chain.

Gordita has a history of IVDD and a previous back injury has resulted in a weakened hind end. She must always be carried up and down stairs and must not be allowed to jump on or off the furniture.

Gordita has a dominant personality, and while she is fond of dogs, a slow intro is required if there are other dogs in the home. Slow introductions are required for new visitors to the home or strangers.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
