“He’s just a big goofy lovebug! He wants to be near his human all the time.”

Handsome Henrik is ready for adoption! This just-turning-2-years-old handsome stud was going to be just that, a stud, until the breeder decided she didn't want a dog who urine marked. After she re-homed and he was in his house for about 36 hours, he was returned for, you guessed it, marking!

And just two days before going to a new home with an FBRN volunteer, he developed some back pain and X-rays showed some narrowing between the vertebrae and also unilateral hip dysplasia. Because this potential home already had a fairly rambunctious dog, it was decided FBRN would take Henrik in and find him a more suitable environment.

Henrik has already been neutered and had palate and nares correction. He has environmental and food allergies and it will be important to carefully watch the ingredients in his diet--kids can't share their food, for example. As Henrik gets older, his back and hip issues could certainly worsen. We think all this cuteness is well worth the extra work and financial burden, but we do want adopters to consider Henrik’s future needs as they consider submitting an application.

Since Henrik is such a mellow guy, he’d probably make friends with cats, but because he has allergies, a feline-free home is required. Children who are over 8 and dog-savvy would be great (the food issue is one reason for the 8 and dog-savvy request. Let us know about your children's experience in your application). Henrik loves his people and the more laps, the merrier! He has no resource guarding tendencies. Henrik is crate trained, he walks well on a leash, and his housebreaking routine is coming along!

Henrik would be happy in any type of living situation; he is very easy going and doesn’t require lots of room to run. As long as he has a person to chill with most of the time, he’s a happy camper! But because of his back and hip problems, Henrik’s canine companions would need to be laid back and preferably no more than about 25 pounds--gender is not an issue, he loves everydoggy. We think Henrik would make a fantastic office companion for someone who is lucky enough to take their best friend to work!

Here’s how Henrik’s foster mom describes him, “He’s just a big goofy lovebug! He wants to be near his human all the time.”

If you’re low-key and looking for a laid-back canine friend who will always be near, then consider applying for Henrik today! He’s cute as a button, but not quite small enough to fit comfortably under your airplane seat, so please be prepared to drive to collect him.

FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo.Adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
