The lovely Lucretia is sure to capture your heart with her looks. You would probably never know from looking at Lucretia that this is her second time with FBRN. She was surrendered once because of potty issues and this second time because her owner had to move. It appears in Lucretia's case, she's hoping that the third time really will be a charm.
Lucretia has allergies, her tail pocket requires maintenance, she has IVDD with spondylosis, arthritis in her knees, and urinary incontinence. Lucretia has also recently had a dental with extractions. This could appear to be quite the task for some, so it will take a special home for Lucretia. They say that getting older is tough on a lady.
Lucretia is allergic to storage mites, cats, feathers, and wool. With all these allergies, what is a lady to do? The answer is easy, of course. Lucretia must maintain a beauty regimen that includes the following: Nature's Farmacy supplements, Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet supplement, regular medicated baths and daily Apoquel. In regards to her incontinence issues, Lucretia wears stylish disposable diapers indoors to prevent wetting. She can and will happily go outside, but sometimes a lady just can't hold it or doesn't want to once out there. The good news is the vet can help with direction on how to treat this.
Her tail is unique and has a corkscrew shape. Due to the shape, it needs to be frequently cleaned and monitored to make sure that there isn't any yeast or bacterial infection. Those are issues this little lady would rather not have to deal with.
Lucretia is quite the snuggle bug. She will occasionally get a case of the zoomies and run around with one of her favorite toys. Beauty rest is also high on her agenda of things to do during the day. This girl also loves to chew and likes chewy treats. Lucretia is also a smart and crafty dog. She has managed to learn how to knock down trash cans that might not be weighted and army crawl through cabinets that don't latch, all in hope of finding snacks.
The type of home that she will require is a special one. With her allergies in mind, she should not go to a home with cats. Although Lucretia loves children, it would be better for her to go to a home that didn't have any to lessen the chance that she would ingest anything that was dropped, which would aggravate her allergies. If there were other dogs in the home that had similar allergies or issues to what Lucretia has, she wouldn't mind new siblings. She would make a good dog in any type of home, but special care will be needed to make sure that Lucretia is kept from any indoor and outdoor allergens. She tolerates being home alone for a medium amount of time, the only concern would be that food and trash would be out of her stealthy reach or gated off. Lucretia could adjust to going into the office with someone as she is not fearful of other people or dogs.
Lucretia's foster mom had this to say about her "Lu is a very special girl! She is sweet, lovable, and cute as a button. She is worth every bit of extra attention she requires. She loves to curl up next to you and push under your arm for a nice belly rub! She is truly a joy to have around."
If you think that your home would be the perfect fit for an aging gal that has a lengthy list of needs, then look no further than the beautiful Lucretia. All that you need to do is fill out an application for her and be ready to pick her up in Michigan, if you are selected as her forever family.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster famil
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
Lucretia is allergic to storage mites and must remain on a raw diet, Nature's Farmacy supplements, Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet supplement, regular medicated baths and daily Apoquel. She is also allergic to cats so she must never be around them. She is allergic to feathers and wool and she must avoid feather pillows and down and wool blankets.
She also suffers from urinary incontinence to be treated as directed by a veterinarian. Lucretia had a dental with extractions on 12.14.2017. Her tail pocket requires routine maintenance.
Lucretia has intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) with spondylosis and arthritis in her knees.
