Age: 4 yrs
Weight: 31 lbs.
Fenced yard: No Preference
Adoption fee: $500
Luke is crate trained and house broken. He is perfectly healthy for a Frenchie. In his previous home Luke was around two smaller children. When he's out walking with his foster mom, he will instantly perk up to the sound of children's voices and want to watch them as they play on the playground. Luke is starting to be introduced to other dogs, however this is a very slow process. It is something that could possibly be managed over time, but it would require patience. Luke will still lunge and growl at other dogs if he doesn't have his special collar on. Preference will be given to homes where he will be the only dog, however, if you have experience integrating an aggressive dog into your family using slow introduction or another method, tell us about it in your application.
Luke is a fairly adaptable boy. He could be in a home with or without children and wouldn't mind if someone worked daily since he is crate trained. However he would love if his forever people had time to spend with him in the evenings. He could also adjust to going into the office with someone. He really wouldn't mind someone that worked from home or part of the day either.
As with any dog, Luke can be a little rough at times playing but nothing that would cause any concern or harm. He does love his Kong and can get obsessed with it at times. Luke also loves going for walks, being petted, and he just soaks up any attention he gets.
Luke's foster mom had this to say about him:"Luke is a happy dog who can be a cuddle bug or go off on his own. He is very balanced with his energy level. He can be hyper one minute but wear himself out soon after. However, he doesn’t like to spend large amounts of time without being in the presence of his foster mom or another person. He loves attention but, doesn’t constantly need it or looks for it. "
If you have room in your heart and home for a superstar with amazing manners who's looking for some more attention, then please consider adopting Luke. All that's left to do fill out an application for him and be ready to pick him up if you are selected. Luke is too big to fly, so he'd have to be driven to his new home.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
KNOWN HEALTH PROBLEMS/CONSIDERATIONS:
Luke should remain on his current diet.
In terms of behavior, he has exhibited aggressive behavior towards other dogs and would benefit from obedience training. A very slow intro is required if there are other dogs in the home.
