Sweet little Neiman is truly a rescue! He suddenly lost the use of his hind legs, and his owners could not afford the emergency surgery so they lovingly handed him over to FBRN for another chance at life. His surgery was successful, and after a month of crate rest and recovery time, he is now pain-free and ready to start a new chapter!
Neiman is a very good boy. He is house and crate trained, gets along with other dogs and older kids as long as they don’t play too rough. He’s not whiny or needy, but he does love attention and will seek it (you!) out.
He loves stuffed and/or squeaky toys, and enjoys a game of fetch or tug. A nylabone also keeps him busy. Although it’s not necessary to crate him during the day, he uses it as his den when he needs to be alone, although he should have someone with him during the day. Thankfully, he is very social and would be a great office dog!
As noted, because of his medical condition, Neiman must always be carried up and down stairs and must not be allowed to jump on or off furniture. But a little care goes a long way, and his foster humans know he will make it worth the effort!
“My only desire is for Neiman to be a big part of your family. That you will love him unconditionally and provide him with the the best care and love that he deserves. That you would take him everywhere you go, ‘cause he loves to show off and make people smile. He will always have a special place in our hearts.”
Neiman is window shopping while he waits for his Marcus to arrive. If that's you, be prepared to travel to Florida and drive him home.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
Neiman has IVDD and had a hemilaminectomy at the level of T13 through L2 performed on 02.16.2019. He must always be carried up and down stairs and must not be allowed to jump on or off the furniture.
