ABOUT PARKER: Parker has a history of skin infections that must be monitored for recurrence. He does not like other dogs or cats and must remain an only dog. Parker must never be around small children. He would benefit from obedience training.
Parker is ready to find his perfect forever home!! Read on to see if your family might be the perfect fit for this handsome brindle hunk.
Parker came to FBRN after an emotional surrender. With changing family circumstances, his former owner felt it was unfair to leave Parker alone for extended periods of time. After arriving at his foster home, he settled right into his new routine. Parker enjoys going on walks, snuggling with foster mom, and, of course, he enjoys getting snacks! He loves apples, berries, bananas, oranges, and he will even settle for a dog treat or two!
Parker may be a little gray around the face, but he is healthy, active, and strong as an ox! He doesn’t have any of the usual Frenchie allergies and he doesn’t require any special diet or medication. However, Parker has a skin issue that can cause him to develop bald spots. His vet determined it is unrelated to allergies and is easily managed with regular medicated baths.
Like many Frenchies, Parker is very food driven! He will sit, shake, and lie down for treats (often without being asked). Parker has a high prey drive and really enjoys chasing things like small animals and even bicycles. He doesn’t seem to understand that the neighbor’s cat is not a treat! Parker could benefit from some training in this area, but in the meantime, his forever home must be free from other dogs, cats, and small children.
Parker’s ideal home would be a single story dwelling as he does not like stairs. No castle needed for this handsome prince! Since Parker is such a gentleman, he can be trusted to take great care of your cherished belongings. In his foster home, he is allowed full access and doesn’t need to be crated if left unattended. Parker avoids the stairs and happily sleeps downstairs on his own. His foster mom reports that on the rare occasion he is downstairs alone and needs his foster mom, he yodels loud enough to wake the dead!
Parker enjoys the company of humans and relishes going to work every day with his foster mom; he even does a little happy dance when she puts on her backpack and signals that it is time to go! Parker would do best in a family that is home all day or has the ability to bring him to work. He currently works at his foster mom’s flower shop and we’re told that he’s fabulous at his job. Who wouldn’t want to be greeted by such handsome little guy!
Parker’s foster mom has nothing but good things to say about him, “This little guy is so easy. Healthy, loving, and just wants to be near you! He loves his walks on the trail and is getting used to not letting other dogs, squirrels, cats, bicycles, etc. upset him. His momma loved him very much. I have never had a dog arrive with so much luggage!!”
If Parker sounds like the right fit for you, please submit an application and tell us why! This sweetheart is looking forward to meeting his forever family, but in the meantime, he’s enjoying the foster life in sunny Florida. Parker might be too big to fly, but he LOVES road trips and would make a great companion for your journey by car. FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
Had to sadly say goodbye to our Emma two months ago. She was 12 and life just got to tough for her. Parker looks so much like Emma. God Bless you Pat Dolce
