Batter up! This Louisville Slugger is looking for a team to take him into his senior years. This fellow has some medical conditions that require extra care, including diapering and bathing when necessary, and feeding a special diet that his foster mom will tell you about. But he is easygoing and always up for a cuddle or stroller ride.
Slugger’s interests include being with his people, going out in his stroller, and sitting on a soft bed. He’s definitely more of a couch potato and would rather watch the game with you than play with toys.
Louisville Slugger is currently presenting with hind end weakness, cataracts, and is hard of hearing. He currently wears a diaper or male wrap at home, but is dry 85% of the time. Over the long term, he may eventually lose bowel control and vision. Because of his special needs, his future home should be quiet with well-behaved, older children and dogs. And it’s important that he live in a house with no stairs! Someone home during the day would be preferred, or he could go to the office, but his spinal condition demands that he can't climb stairs or jump on furniture or down off things like decks.
Slugger is a big guy, so, he can’t fly, but he does well in the car. He's an all-round good dude, and he's looking forward to rounding home! He's waiting for his forever family in Kansas.
His foster mom says, “Louisville Slugger is a sweet, gentle old man; he has done fantastic in foster care and deserves an amazing forever home. He is the PERFECT companion for shopping trips in his pet stroller and snuggling on the couch.”
FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo, so adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.
FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.
Slugger has impaired vision due to cataracts. He also has impaired hearing. Slugger has IVDD and must always be carried up and down stairs and must not be allowed to jump on or off the furniture. He is also urinary incontinent.
