“Tripp is a distinguished gentleman. Looking into his eyes you realize he has experienced so much in his life time. He has a calm demeanor and is low maintenance.
A warm bed, good meal and some belly rubs is all this guy needs to feel satisfied. If you are looking for a loyal companion, Tripp is your man. We love this "vintage" guy and want him to enjoy his retirement, kicking back and being the king of his domain!”
Are you looking for a senior companion who understands the importance of owning a good smoking jacket? Well look no further, because FBRN’s Tripp is ready for adoption!

Tripp was returned to FBRN when his previous adopter's work hours changed and he no longer could spend enough time with him.

Tripp is housebroken, crate trained, and knows all of his basic commands. He is healthy for his age, but was diagnosed with Degenerative Multiple Valve Heart Disease in 2013. Potential adopters need to be aware as this is a degenerative disease.

Tripp is selective with which dogs he likes and which dogs he doesn't like, but it doesn’t seem to be based on size or gender. Tripp has personal space issues with certain dogs. He could be happy in a home with respectful, calm, dogs; but, he would not do well with overly playful or hyper dogs. He was reported to have food aggression and has been fed separately from the other dogs in his foster home. Tripp has no interest in toys, so there has been no resource guarding behavior witnessed while he’s been in foster care.

Tripp still has lots of pep in his step! He enjoys his evening stroll but is happiest to hang out with his foster Dad. Tripp's favorite thing is to be with his human. No matter what you are doing, he just wants to be beside you!

Because Tripp prefers a calm environment, he will not be placed in a home with young children. His reputation of snarkiness with other dogs precedes him, but in foster care, he has shown that he can get along with respectful, calm dogs.

A fenced yard is not required and we think Tripp would do just fine in a home, apartment, or condo. While in foster care, someone has been home with him most of the time. We think Tripp would do best in a similar situation. However, the times he has been left alone at his foster home, he has been just fine, so a mid-day break would work. Tripp loves running errands with his foster dad and we think he’d make a fantastic office companion!

A few words from Tripp’s foster family, “Tripp is a distinguished gentleman.

Tripp is ready to pack his smoking jackets and move-in with his forever family! If you think he would fit perfectly into your household, then please apply for him today.

FBRN dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the extensive bios on each dog.

FBRN does not ship dogs as cargo. Except in rare or unusual cases, adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. In rare or unusual cases, FBRN may be able to assist in transporting a dog to a volunteer near the adopter's home, but the expense of transporting the dog must be the responsibility of the adopting party.
