Who is 4 years old, creamy white (a little red), way cuter than a button, and a master flycatcher? FBRN's newest foster, Hammond! Hammond's previous owners bought him from a pet store and quickly realized he had allergies beyond their control. After spending a pretty penny trying to manage Hammond's allergies--in addition to major job, scheduling, and other life changes-- his owners surrendered him to FBRN.
Under FBRN care is one of the best places a Frenchie could be; Hammond has already been started on Apoquel, had extensive blood work done, and he even received an acupuncture session, which has helped his itchies! He is quite underweight, but foster mom is all over that with rabbit and raw duck food. He does have a suspicious black spot around his right eye which will be evaluated. Despite some medical unknowns, he has been adjusting very well in foster care: he walks politely on a leash, and he gets along really well with the resident canines (and tortoise!) He's a dream, aside from some food aggression which is easily remedied by feeding him in his crate.
Hammond arrived with a basket full of shampoos, lotions and potions for his itching, but allergy testing and treatment is quite expensive. If you would like to donate to his allergy-management fund, we promise to commit to the best care possible for Hammond. Click on his head shot in order to sponsor this pretty pup! He'll thank you by showing off his amazing mid-air fly catching skills.
Here's wishing you scratch free days Hammond xoxox. Rosemary Black
