One lovely old lady, Louisette, found herself in FBRN's care recently. This sweet thing was tearfully surrendered when her second owner found her own life situation was preventing her from getting Louisette the care that she needed. Louisette is 12 and completely deaf. This is due to all of the chronic ear infections that she has had in her life.
Louisette's vet visit indicated that her sodium/potassium ratio is off. Her blood work also indicated early stage renal failure, which is most likely due to her age. She's a little weak in the rear, but hopefully that can be corrected with dietary changes.
Besides being an older woman, Louisette is a love. She's confused by the changes in her surroundings. She has settled in beautifully to her foster home. Louisette is a shadow for her foster mom. She is a very smart Frenchie, who has already mastered hand signals to know when to come, go through a door, and eat in her crate. She does still have bursts of play in her old bones and enjoys exploring the yard. She's settling in nicely and has even gained a little bit of weight. Louisette is gaining confidence and showing slight improvement since getting to foster care.
If you have a few spare dollars lying around, please consider donating it to Louisette and the cost of her vet visits. All you need to do is click on the link to sponsor her. We thank you!
