Happy New Year! Please join us in welcoming FBRN’s freshest pastry, Strudel, to the fold. This delectable seven(ish)-year-old brindle biscuit came into rescue after her former owner moved and relinquished Strudel to a shelter in the process. (We’re pretty sure this wasn’t the Happy New Year Strudel was expecting!) But fortunately for this girl – and her soon-to-be adoring public – FBRN heard about her plight, sprung this sweet morsel toot sweet, and sent her to her fantastic foster home where she is settling in and learning the ropes.

Strudel’s foster mom says that in the short time she has been there, she has been well-mannered and gets along swimmingly with the other dogs in the home. She loves people too, and has reportedly even become friends with the handymen who are doing a few projects around the house. (Sounds more like “snoopervising” to us, but who are we to judge?) One lovely surprise was the fact that she is a kitty person.

We are very grateful to the 3 volunteers who dropped everything inside of 24 hours to learn about, pick up, transport, and deliver this little mouthful to her foster home during peak holiday madness. Our volunteers are just fabulous.

Strudel also appears to be a healthy girl. She is heartworm-negative (hurray!) and while her intake vet visit uncovered an ear infection (ouch!), there were no other issues of concern. (Once again…hurray!)

For now, she is learning the house rules, hanging out with her foster siblings and receiving scritches proportionate to her beauty. (We are obviously describing a 24/7 operation here.) If you find Strudel as delicious as we do, please consider contributing to her icing fund. Just click on the link above and drop in a few coins. Strudel would thank you. (And so would we!)
