Biggie – affectionately called Mister Big by his foster mama – was a much adored pet in his former home. He was surrendered out of love when his former family was unable to afford his medical bills and rehabilitation when he went down in the rear. Mister Big has back problems, but many Frenchies recover from their injuries and live happy lives without further occurrences. Biggie is rehabilitated and well-muscled now, thanks to lots of play and tug with the other dogs in his foster home, and he has recovered from his injury. Adopters should know that in a home without other dogs for playing with, or a commitment to keeping Biggie in good physical condition he could go back to needing special care and may still need special care—a home without stairs, for instance-- in his older years.
Biggie loves people of all shapes and sizes! He just wants to be next to his person. (Preferably on the couch.) Mister Big has done very well with children ages 5 – 16. We’ll happily consider homes with dog-savvy kids 8 and up.
On the minor side, Biggie also has a slight tummy issue that is managed by giving him a Pepcid AC before his meals.
Biggie loves dogs of all types and has enjoyed all of his canine foster siblings. He really enjoys physical exercise and it is very good for him to stay in shape, so we’ll give preference to homes with moderately active people and at least one moderately active dog.
Biggie has no temperament issues to speak of. While playing tug with another dog he makes lots of noise, but it’s just trash talk. He has been known to growl at his foster mom in protest of going out for the last potty of the evening, but he’s a teenager. They all talk back.
Biggie is housebroken and is crate trained.
The ideal home for Biggie has one or two other friendly, laid-back dogs—Frenchie or not. Biggie enjoys playing with another dog but will also curl up and nap with them. Biggie’s favorite things to do, besides cuddling with his person and another dog, are to relax with a Nylabone, disembowel a stuffie and play tug.
We’ll give preference to a home with Frenchie or brachy experience and Biggie’s home should have a fenced yard for him to run and play in to maintain his muscularity. If you have another plan for exercising Biggie and you don’t have a yard, tell us about it in your application.
Someone who works from home would be ideal for Biggie. However, someone who works part time and could leave him in an ex-pen while they are gone is a suitable option. Mister Biggs may also be fine as an office dog. A few potty breaks, a Nylabone, and a bed would make him happy. We guarantee he will boost morale in the office!
Here are a few words from Biggie’s foster mom: “Biggie has grabbed me by the heart during his stay with us. He is a smiley boy that would like nothing better than a warm place to live and a loving family to snuggle with. He takes the love you give and gives it back tenfold.”
Do you have a big heart, a big empty spot on your couch and a big need for a special boy such as Biggie? If you think you can provide him with the loving forever home he’s looking for, please apply for him. But be prepared to pick him up. Mister Biggs is in Colorado and he won’t be shipped!
