Campbell was surrendered to FBRN due to a divorce and financial hardship. When he arrived he was thin and had some major skin itchies with their accompanying infections. Now that Campbell is eating a high quality grain-free food (and a lot of it!) he is fattening up and his skin is waaaaaaay better. His forever family will need to keep up the good work to help him look and feel like a million bucks. He has no other health issues.
Campbell is a frog who has a real zest for life. He absolutely adores playing with kids and the crazy romping can go on and on until either he collapses in a heap, or the kids do. Because he is pretty bouncy, sturdy kids over the age of five would be best.
Currently Campbell lives with three large dogs and one Frenchie in his foster home, and he tries to boss them all. His dog-to-dog social skills are insignificant at best, and his brash attempts at play are not particularly welcome. He also guards his food and toys against the other dogs so he would probably do best as an only dog. We haven’t tested him with cats, but he has a pretty keen prey drive and we think any sensible cat would probably recommend NOT living with the likes of Campbell.
This little dynamo loves to run and play and chatter. He is very active and nosy, always watching the world around him to make sure he isn't missing anything important. He will need a family that can work off some of his energy on a daily basis so he doesn't get into trouble. Campbell LOVES car rides! He currently assists his foster mama on trips to the bank, dropping kids at soccer practice and short trips out the driveway to the mailbox.
Campbell is housebroken, however he gets very busy and needs to be reminded to go out or he might have an accident. Once he is in the yard, he knows that he is to take care of business before going back inside. A regular schedule will keep him on track with no problems.
His favorite activities are spending time with people, first and foremost. Campbell is very sweet and loving and wears his heart on his sleeve. He also loves squeaky toys and Nylabones. And Campbell is brave! He will gallantly protect you from vacuum cleaners, leaf blowers, hair dryers, and anything else that makes noise.
We would like to see Campbell with an active family, with kids if possible, as he is playful and loves to be busy. First time Frenchie owners would be fine as long as they have done their homework and understand Frenchie skin issues, overheating, etc. Ideally, Campbell would live in a home with a fenced yard. He’s good on a leash but would love to romp and play unencumbered sometimes. Because of his dominance issues with other dogs he is probably not a good candidate for the dog park.
Campbell does have a little separation anxiety. He will howl and yodel when he is placed in his crate and knows his people are leaving (for this reason an apartment might not be a good fit.) A perfect scenario would be someone who works from home or is home a good deal of the time, but we believe he could adjust to be left alone during the day if he had a pet sitter to check on him. We know what you are thinking, and the answer is Yes! Campbell would be thrilled to go to work! He would settle right into a dog bed at your feet under the desk.
Campbell is a happy little busybody. When you are with him you just can’t help but smile. He is very active and will play until he has worn himself out and then wants to curl up on a warm lap and take a nap. Sweet, silly and 100% adorable, Campbell looks forward to spending the rest of his life in a wonderful home where he can lap up lots of love and attention.
If your family is as busy and as loving as Campbell, then by all means send in your application. He won’t be shipped, so get the car gassed up. Campbell is waiting for you in Maryland, and he can’t wait to take a road trip to his forever home!
