“Cecilia, You're breaking my heart
You're shaking my confidence baby
Oh Cecilia, I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you please to come home…”
Admit it…you know you were singing it when you saw her name. We guarantee by the time you read through to the end, you’ll be begging to have Cecelia come to your home!
Cecelia was a breeder surrender due to the fact that her uterus prolapsed every time she went into heat. She’s since been spayed, problem solved and Cecelia is a happy, healthy girl!
Do you have a cat? Well, no need to worry with Cecelia. She loves dog-savvy kitties! Cecelia will get right on top of cats, groom them and then turn to look at you with a mouthful of cat hair! She may just be the first Frenchie with hairballs!
Cecelia does not live with children in her foster home but attends adoption outreaches with her foster mom at PetsMart and while there she migrates toward the children. She is very gentle and patient with them, so we feel she would do fine in a household with respectful children.
In her foster home Cecelia has four other doggy foster siblings and she loves to play and romp and wrassle and head butt them. When tired, she’ll retreat to her crate in a self initiated timeout, and then rejoin the group when she’s fully recharged. Cecelia is not a big people snuggler, and if being held, will get very fidgety if she sees some action going on elsewhere. Cecelia will play with toys, but playing with a companion takes precedence over any toy in the arsenal. The ideal forever home for Cecelia is one in which she would have the company of another dog in which to play and wrassle with at will.
Cecelia hasn’t met a dog or person she didn’t like! While out on the town, Cecelia will plant herself in front of a stranger until she is acknowledged, petted, and then moves on to her next target. Not a shy one, our Cecelia.
Cecelia does have her quirks. If not watched during mealtime, Cecelia will play musical bowls by growling and bullying her way into someone else’s dish to eat their food. If another dog comes near her dish she will growl to keep them away. If another dog has a toy that Cecelia thinks she would like to have, Cecelia has no problem laying right on top of that dog and gently sneaking the toy out of the side of its mouth. For this reason, Cecelia must be fed separately if in a multi-dog household and should not be placed with a dominant dog.
Cecelia is crate trained and is working hard on her potty training. She does very well if watched, and her forever home should be committed to reinforcing her potty training skills.
Cecelia has had no obedience training, but this girl is eager to please, is a fast learner and is very social. She would enjoy the time spent in class with her classmates and their parents.
A person who works from home would be ideal for Cecelia, but if she was allowed a mid-day potty break that would be OK also. Cecelia would also love to be an office greeter, getting lavished with attention and then retreating to her own special spot.
While Cecelia could probably live anywhere as long as she was allowed proper daily exercise to romp with her friends, a home with a fenced yard for Frencie nut runs and wrasslin’ matches is at the top of her wish list.
Here are some words from Cecelia’s adoring foster mom: “Cecelia is an absolute doll. She had many litters in her breeding life, and now deserves to be pampered and loved and waited on shamelessly by her new family. Cecelia had to learn the skill of playing from her Boston Terrier foster siblings and took to wrestling and rough-housing very well, but is not interested in chasing a ball. Cecelia loves playing tug-o-war with stuffed toys and will run through the house with a piece of the stuffing like it is a trophy, quite proud of herself. Nothing is too good for “Cece.”
If you are now down on your knees begging Cecelia to come to your home, please apply for her. But be prepared for a road trip, because Cecelia is in Oklahoma and will not be shipped!
