After playing with the kids, wrasslin’ with his foster brothers, running around the yard, chewin’ on Nylabones, and snoozing in people’s laps, Cesar is ready to find his forever home! Cesar came to FBRN because his previous owner was experiencing health problems that needed his time and energies. Cesar is enjoying a very active puppyhood—this boy has lots of energy and loves to play! Cesar would be well suited to an active home with at least one other dog, and he’d also love some kids to play with. He does fine with cats too! Because he still gets excited and jumps up, kids should be over the age of seven.

Cesar is the type of dog who needs lots of stimulation and activity to burn off all that puppy energy. Cesar is a very social dog and has been working on his manners while in foster care. Sometimes, he will show his stubborn bulldog streak and ignore the commands he just obeyed. The boy has a mind of his own, but with some continued positive training methods and practice, we know he’ll reach the top of his class. His new owner(s) should plan to continue Cesar’s obedience, and a group class would be a great learning experience and outlet for him. Cesar’s a happy-go-lucky kind of guy and his desire to please his people makes him a willing student.

Cesar doesn’t have a lick of aggression in him—to him the world is full of pals and friends, and his clock is almost (always) set at playtime! In fact, when one of the dogs in his foster home pulled up his sleeves to show Cesar a thing or two, Cesar thought he was being invited to engage in some fun wrasslin’! Cesar is not a couch potato type of Frenchie, though he does love to snooze on your lap while you watch TV. He loves playing with the other dogs and kids, though he’s not the type that needs to be the center of attention. Ideally, Cesar’s home would have a fenced yard, where he can run and play. The fence would also be important as Cesar can run like the wind, and as he doesn’t come when called and could easily run to find other distractions. When it’s time for a break, his foster mom gives Cesar a Nylabone to chew on, which keeps him happily occupied during his quiet time.

Cesar hasn’t had any health problems while in foster care, though he has experienced a few allergies that have responded well to Benadryl. His forever home will need to keep an eye on this, as it’s possible that down the road he’ll need to be treated for his allergy problem, which is quite common among Frenchies.

Cesar’s made progress on his housetraining, but isn’t there 100% just yet—more like 80%. Sometimes he’ll have accidents when he gets excited during playtime, and a regular routine will help in his housetraining. He is crate-trained and happily goes in when asked. Cesar doesn’t need someone who is home all day, but will need a mid-day walk. Cesar is enjoying his boyhood too much to take on a regular job—he just isn’t ready for the workplace just yet. His foster mom tried taking him to the office, but it was just one big playground to him! She thinks that as Cesar gets a little older and matures, he will very likely be able to go to work with you. His winning personality would make him a favorite at the workplace, once he harnesses that puppy energy just a little.

Cesar is a sweet dog with a loving personality. He is a happy and active puppy, whose mission in life is to have fun, run around, to love and be loved by his animal friends and human family. His foster mom has this to say about him:

“Cesar is the sweetest dog who seems to take everything in stride. He fit right in with his foster brothers and keeps them on their toes! After a nice romp and wrassle he will snuggle in your lap for a good snooze while you enjoy your favorite TV show. He loves to be in the bed and under the covers is the absolute best place to be! As he grows and matures this boy should blossom even more. He has enriched all of our lives to see this boy come out of his shell and be the sweetheart that he is!”

Cesar is playing in Northwest Michigan. He’ll happily settle in a secure crate for a ride to his new home, and of course, he will not be shipped!
