“Jasette, please stop chewing on my slippers long enough so we can write your bio to find you your forever home!” Her foster mom sighs but smiles. Jasette’s foster mom knows that she is now ready to join her forever family, but not before leaving a big white paw print behind on her heart (and yes, a few chewed up slippers and headless stuffies under the couch too!)

Jasette, as you can guess, is a puppy—puppy breath, puppy paws, and puppy work! In fact, Jasette came to FBRN when her former owners were overwhelmed by the time and attention this young pup needed. Like most other puppies her age, Jasette is still working on housetraining, chewing on appropriate toys, and socialization to canine and human rules alike. Jasette is crate-trained. The resident Frenchies in her foster home have firmly refused Jasette’s attempts to dominate them, though she hasn’t completely given up trying, yet. Jasette’s foster mom has been working to dislodge Jasette of the belief that she should be in charge. She will need a home with a strong leader who will not melt at the sight of her cuteness and give her free reign to develop into a little terror! Jasette has not had any formal obedience training, but would do well with ongoing training using gentle, patient methods. A class would be a great opportunity for Jasette. With a solid routine and strong rules, Jasette’s foster mom says she is a real sweetheart.

Jasette loves to go for walks and enjoys just hanging out in the backyard for hours and her forever home will definitely need to have a securely fenced yard. Jasette’s other favorite activities also include sitting on people’s laps and watching outside activity from the window. She loves her stuffies, and enjoys giving a Nylabone a good chew. Jasette would do best with a person or family who has experience with Frenchie temperaments and stubbornness. Children seven or older who are dog-savvy would make fine playmates and companions for Jasette. She’d love another dog sibling to play with, although she’d also do fine as an only dog with a full schedule of playdates. She doesn’t require someone that is home all day, but if her person or people work outside the home, she’ll need a mid-day walk, which is especially important to reinforce her housetraining and ongoing socialization. Jasette is not ready to leave the playground yet for the workplace, as she is much too active, but perhaps with time she’d make a good office assistant.

Jasette doesn’t have any ongoing health concerns!

Her foster mom has this to say about her:

“Jasette is a sweet puppy looking for people to love her and provide her with consistent rules & routines. She needs exercise and lots of fresh air and would be a good fit for someone looking for a companion on walks. She also loves playing chase with other dogs. Her favorite activity is exploring the yard and watching the world go by. Her second favorite thing is chewing on Nylabones—she loves the hard, chicken flavored ones the best. Being a puppy, she loves everybody. Her adorable face and white toes attract people to her. She’s known as the rock star in our house because she attracts a crowd wherever she goes.”

If you’re chosen to be the rock star’s entourage, plan on getting the tour bus in gear for a trip to the Chicago area, as the little rock star won’t be shipped.
