Neither spaceship nor Rosie the Robot is required in this Jetson’s forever home. You may, however, need a jetpack to keep up with the boundless energy of this young frog!
Jetson landed himself in foster care due to his inability to get along with the other Frenchie in his previous home. While perusing his medical records, it’s been discovered that poor Jetson has had multiple homes prior to that one. We would like his next home to be his final and forever home, so please read his bio extra careful to make sure you are the absolute perfect fit for Jetson!
Jetson is a healthy, exuberant young frog with the energy level to go along with it. He’s always on the go, running, jumping or just looking for something to play with or get in to. He loves all toys and is a terrific stuffie killer. Jetson’s foster mom says that he will chew bones also, but she thinks his favorite toy is the Kong Wubba. He runs around with it, squeaks it, tosses it and hasn’t killed it yet!
There is a resident feline in Jetson’s foster home and he is coexisting with her just fine. A dog-savvy cat would be OK in Jetson’s forever home. He does not currently live with any children but has been pretty well behaved the handful of times his foster mom has introduced him. However, Jetson is a very high jumper with a lot of energy, and may be too rough and boisterous for young children. For this reason we feel a home with children 12 years and older would be best.
It takes Jetson a while to warm up to another dog and he absolutely does not trust any new dog. Jetson is extremely toy aggressive and will launch himself at an innocent canine passer-by if Jetson has possession of a toy. His foster mom notes that he responds very well to verbal corrections and has not had to physically restrain him. She feels that he is capable of living with another dog as long as his forever family is firm and consistent with him and does not allow him to challenge the other dog.
Jetson would benefit from obedience training, not only to correct the dog aggression, but also so that he may possibly graduate to be an office companion. He has gone to work with his foster mom and did well for the environment, but will definitely need more training for other offices. In the meantime, Jetson does great in his crate during the day as long as he is given the opportunity for an exhausting morning exercise session and mid-day potty break.
Jetson is completely crate trained and keeps a nice neat bed. His foster mom believes that he’s housetrained but says she always makes sure he goes potty outside before being free in the house.
The ideal home for Jetson would be with an active family who can devote the time to let him burn off that excess energy. Jetson has no health problems, so a first time Frenchie owner would be fine. His energy level is too high, so we feel that Jetson would not be happy in an apartment. Due to his distrust of new dogs it is not an option to take Jetson to a dog park for exercise. The ideal dwelling for Jetson would be a house with a fenced yard for crazy zoomie runs.
Jetson’s foster mom has this to say about Jetson: “Jetson is simply a dog that hasn’t had any guidance in his life up to this point. He loves to learn and would love to go to a basic obedience class with his new family. He loves to learn with food! It’s the easiest way with him. He is a busy bee and needs someone to supervise him at first. He does love everyone he meets. Oh, and he loves car rides and that is one of the only places he will sit completely still. He listens to the radio, watches out the window, watches you as you drive and just simply enjoys the ride.”
If you think you have the energy to keep up with Jetson, please apply for him. But fuel up your spaceship and be prepared to pick him up. Jetson is being fostered on the planet Michigan and will not be teleported. Or shipped.
