K-K-K-Katie, beautiful Katie,

You're the only g-g-g-girl that I adore;

When the m-m-m-moon shines,

Over the c-c-c-cowshed,

I'll be waiting at the k-k-k-kitchen door.

Oh Katie, we do adore you. Those swirly, marbled stripes. That smooshable little face. A sweet, sweet personality. What’s not to love? We know that you will have many suitors soon, applicants waiting at your virtual kitchen door.

Pretty Katie was well cared for in her previous home. At six years old she is in wonderful condition, her minor allergies and ear infections having always received proper medical care. Her previous owners even had her completely checked out by the vet prior to surrendering her to FBRN. They felt, however, that the demands of caring for a human toddler did not leave them with enough time to give her the attention she deserves. A snuggly little bug, Katie is ready and waiting to be the focal point of her new humans’ lives.

Describing Katie’s personality, her foster mom tells us, “Absolutely no temperament issues at all with people!She is possessive of toys and can also be jealous of attention being given to the other dogs. She will snarl and snap at them (resulting in a banishment for a few minutes) if she’s in your lap and one of the others comes over for attention. This is improving in boot camp, but she will be happiest as an ‘only’ receiving all the affection she wants.”

So you see, Katie does not really like sharing toys or face time with other dogs. When she has had an altercation with one of the others in her foster home or has been scolded, her little chin will tremble with worry. She needs to be reassured, but not too much, so the nervousness isn’t rewarded. Foster mom explains, “If there is another dog, it must be tolerant and the family must be willing to work her through the likely battles that will occur while adjusting. She must be made to feel secure that you are in control of the situation. First time Frenchie folks would be fine if there are no other dogs. If there is another dog, the family should have bully breed experience.”

If your vision of a perfect life is a beautiful little Frenchie girl to cherish without competition from other dogs, you could be a perfect match for Katie. She is also comfortable with small children and ignores any cats. Isn’t that something? What a cozy family picture that would be with Katie, kitties, kids and you!

Crate trained other than the occasional whine or bark and perfectly housebroken, Katie could make do with a mid-day potty break if you must go to work. But she would really love to commute with you and share an office, you with your laptop and her with a Nylabone to occupy her time. We wonder if having a little frog as a passenger qualifies you for driving in the HOV lane? One thing for sure, having Katie along would make the day so much nicer.

How does Katie like to spend her days? She is a loving, low-maintenance snuggler who adores cuddling up under covers. She can often be located burrowed in the throws on her foster mom’s couch and she would dearly love to sleep in the big people bed. Eliciting smiles from those watching, she rolls around on the carpet, waving her feet in the air, scratching her little back. A fenced yard to amble around in would be nice – she is agile and lithe when the mood strikes her to do some zoomies. But she mostly just tends to the necessaries and comes back in, so daily walks and apartment life would be just fine.

Foster mom tells a little more about Katie saying, “She loves Nylabones and is VERY fond of Antlerz®. And of course, de-squeaking stuffies is always fun! Her favorite thing though, is snuggling up with her people getting kisses and belly rubs. Katie is an accomplished kisser, snuggle bug and people-lover. She is not destructive and perfectly housebroken, and is just an all-around excellent companion. All she asks for is a person who will show her unconditional love, with enough leadership to make her feel secure. Give her a soft bed in front of the fireplace where she can chew her bones on a cold winter night, and a place on the sofa next to you for snuggling and she will be perfectly happy. A place in the people bed would be even better!”

We can’t wait to see who will be the lucky one to win Katie’s paw for a forever life. Remember folks, we will not ship her. But she’s worth a drive to Georgia, don’t you think?
