Like his famous namesake, Kelso is a champion heading down the backstretch toward a coveted prize. In his case the winning purse is a perfect forever home that will love and appreciate him no matter what. Goldenly handsome, Kelso is an energetic and playful young frog who is a delightful companion.

A happy Frenchie, Kelso loves, loves, loves his basket of toys, especially footballs. Nothing would please him more than to be out in the back yard roughhousing and “going long” with the fellas. He adores the guys in his foster home. Pull out the leash and Kelso is ready for some enjoyable exercise. If you crave a walking partner, Kelso is your boy.

Kelso is a people frog, but he has a food aggression issue - especially around other dogs. His foster mom describes his behavior saying, “Kelso has tried to bite at feeding time but has never bitten me or my husband. We feel it is more of a dog issue rather than a human one. He has tried to attack our other foster a few times when Kelso knows it’s feeding time. That is why we feel that he would be do best being placed in a home with no other dogs.”

So, to keep everyone safe and happy, Kelso will be placed as an “only”. He is a lot of dog with so much personality; he can fill your home with happiness all by himself. He is a quick study, learning his basic commands easily. Soon you could have Kelso doing all kinds of tricks to keep his mind busy and amuse your friends! Smart and friendly, he has attended business meetings with his foster mom. After the meet and greets, he sits and listens to the discourse politely.

Kelso was originally surrendered because he was a poopy butt boy. He had surgeries for a prolapsed rectum, which corrected that problem. He still will have Colitis symptoms unless he adheres to a strict diet. His foster family has been diligent in finding out what works for him, and his forever family must commit to sticking with it. He eats prescription Royal Canin venison and potato food along with probiotics, kelp, alfalfa and Metamucil. Keep to that plan, and Kelso is just fine. He loves to eat! He can go four to five hours in between potty breaks. If you work, but can provide a mid-day outing, Kelso can wait at home. He would prefer not be crated, and barks in protest.

Kelso has been a lot of fun for his foster family and you will enjoy him too. His foster mom says, “Let me point out Kelso’s great qualities. He is the Energizer bunny! He will play and play until you’re exhausted. He loves to play chase with my seven year old son. The two of them run around after one another like crazy people. It is never quiet in my house! Kelso loves his footballs and he gets so excited when you throw them, he will chase them anywhere! You have to be careful though, if you don’t throw it quick enough he might catch you off-guard and grab it from your hand! Kelso is also great in the car and loves to go for walks. We have a park close by and he does two miles, no problem.”

“Kelso is quite a character and he makes us laugh on a daily basis. Kelso is an alpha dog and will need someone as strong and stubborn to lead him in the right direction. He will definitely make a great addition to someone’s family.”

We’re placing our bets on Kelso to win – win your heart that is, as part of your forever family. Put away the racing form and hop in the jalopy. Kelso is waiting for the best car ride of his life, and will not be shipped.
