Lenny came to FBRN as a big, bouncing bundle of puppy energy. That energy was a little too much for his previous home, so we were happy to welcome sweet Lenny in and work on getting him ship-shape for his forever home. And luckily for all of you, that time is here! Lenny is ready to find his perfect place in the world.
Lenny is a perfectly healthy little lad who just loves kids. He’s been around children 7 and older, and his puppy exuberance might be a little much for the wee ones. Lenny also likes cats, but he can get it in his head that a game of chase would be the best plan for his feline friends, so he’d do best with a dog-savvy cat who can just shake her head at the little scamp. Lenny is also friend to all canines, large and small. He does have a particular interest in the ladies, but he perfectly happy to pal around with a friendly gent, too.
Lenny has lots of get-up-and-go. He’s a follower that is happy to let someone else take the reins, but he is up for a good romp anytime you are. The energy seems to be boundless (as long as he can get some good naps in there, too). Lenny isn’t the brightest crayon in the box, but he’s a sweetheart of the highest caliber. He just loves to make his people happy. Because of untreated ear infections when he was teeny, Lenny does have some residual hearing loss. He does respond to his name, but he would do well in a home with another dog so he can pick up their cues and follow along with what he’s supposed to do.
Lenny is housebroken and crate trained, although he’ll let out a howl to tell you that he’s ready to come out and play. Although he hasn’t had any formal obedience training, Lenny is polite on leash and is learning to come when called. He would do well to have a bit more training, and it would be a fabulous way for Lenny to bond with his new family. Lenny is a sweet and gentle giant (for a Frenchie), and he is even wonderful with his developmentally disabled foster sister. He’s just a super special guy who deserves the best of everything.
One of Lenny’s favorite things to do is chew, so he must have appropriate chew toys lest he be forced to pick out a toy of his own from your lovely belongings. Nylabones are a great option to redirect baby chompers! Lenny would do just fine with a mid-day break for a romp and tinkle, but he’d also be great at the office with you. He’s a sweet, calm boy as long as he’s getting enough exercise, and he’d be the hit of the building!
Lenny’s foster mom had this to say about the wonderfrog: Lenny is a LOVE! He is big and goofy and a bit simpleminded but very, very well-behaved. He makes a very wonderful variety of noises from the soft chirping sound of almost a bird to the wonderful grumbly mumble that only Frenchies can make to an all out howl! I’ve never met a Frenchie who can howl! And who can resist a dog with one ear up and one ear down? It’s just too darn cute!
If you think a world-class snuggler who gives wonderful kisses is the perfect match for you, apply for Lenny now! He’s being fostered in NW Oregon and won’t be shipped, so make your travel plans. And don’t forget to stock up on Nylabones!
