Lorna the sweet little Honey pied is ready to find her forever home! You remember Lorna, don’t you? Of course! You don’t forget this former breeder turned loving pet! Yes, the one with the sweet smile and twinkle of naughty in her eyes—that’s the one!

Since coming into FBRN’s care, Lorna’s mild allergies have responded well to her grain-free diet, something her forever home will need to continue. Her corkscrew tail was inverted and infected, but after a successful surgery it is problem-free!

Lorna is looking for a home where she can be the canine star of the show—she’d very much prefer a dog-free home, where she can be with people, people, people! Lorna loves all humans, including kids! She is a dog who truly lives for her human companionship. Lorna needs a soft bed and a person’s lap and she will be very happy.

Lorna has garnered the nickname “Queen Bee” in her foster home. She can be aggressive with any dog that gets in her face or tries to be dominant towards her. It is possible that Lorna may do all right with a very submissive male, but she will absolutely not tolerate other dominant females. Lorna’s foster mom notes that Lorna plays well with the younger submissive male dog in her foster home, but given her love of people and companionable nature she’d do best as the only dog in the home. Lorna is a social butterfly with people, but she never wants to play with another dog, so potential adopters please keep in mind that Lorna is not a dog for meet-ups or visits to the dog park. Because we don’t know how she interacts with cats, we’ll say no felines for the kitty’s safety.

Lorna is super smart and is very clever. She loves to run and play in the house, and is quick to do her business outside. Did we mention that Lorna is also housebroken and crate-trained? And while she has not had any formal obedience training, she is a quick learner, and responds to her foster mom saying “Leave it” and “Go lay down.” Besides Lorna’s favorite cuddling and companionship activities, the girl does love her a Nylabone.

Lorna would be a wonderful addition for a family with young kids or a home with a single person. She’s not real picky, but prefers no other dogs in her home and lots of time with and attention from her humans. First-time Frenchie people would be okay. She doesn’t need someone home all day with her, and would make a great addition to the office (provided that she is the only dog or kept separate from her canine office mates). Lorna isn’t a barker, and would do fine in an apartment, but she’d also be happy in a home with a fenced yard. Yard or not, she will need to continue her walks, which she loves. She also does wonderfully on leash. Lorna does not want to chat with the dogs she encounters, but if people or kids cross her path, she’d love a greeting and petting!

“Lorna is a pistol! She makes us laugh and smile; the perfect Frenchie. She has such a sweet side to her and really is just our little shadow. Just to be near us is her goal. Lorna is one of the best-trained dogs we have ever had. House trained, crate trained, loves her leash and is just a perfect little companion. I love a dog that will sleep with you all day in bed and that is Lorna. It will be required that her new family allows her on the furniture and in the people bed! She will need to stay on her grain-free diet to keep her allergies under control. A University of Texas fan would get first dibs since she looks like the UT mascot with her coloring (just kidding!)”

Lorna is keeping her foster family company around DFW, Texas. She’d happily volunteer to be a team mascot, especially if that means lots of company over to watch the games that pet and play with her. Lorna will walk to your car for the drive home—but like all FBRN dogs, she will not be shipped.
