Boy: Sylvia?

Girl: Yes, Mickey.

Boy: How do you call your Lover Boy?

Girl: Come here Lover Boy!

Boy: And if he doesn't answer?

Girl: Oh, Lover Boy…

Boy: And if he still doesn't answer?

Girl: I simply say…

Girl: Baby, oh baby, my sweet baby, you're the one

Both: Baby, oh baby, my sweet baby, you're the one

Oh yes. This boy is the one. His precious little mug is the sort that sends Frenchie lovers into a rhapsody of mewling pleasure and embarrassing baby talk. His coat is equally divine, all shiny thick with brindle stripes that are almost orange. Adding a soupcon of character to his look, his tail is a naked, crooked little thing hidden beneath a puffy fold and a tuft of hair. Hey, perfection is boring, right?

The ironic twist is that Lover Boy was not very loverly to the girls in his previous home, a breeding operation. Since he was no longer willing to, er, perform, he was surrendered to FBRN so he could become a beloved pet. That was probably his plan all along, don’t you think? Now neutered, Lover Boy is a super friendly, healthy frog who is eagerly awaiting his new home.

This little man LOVES him some people. Though usually a laid-back guy, he is easily whipped into a frenzy of ecstasy when he greats his foster parents. As his foster mom says, “When I come downstairs in the morning or home from work, he will greet me with a prancing, butt wiggling little dance watching me the entire time with the most incredible look of love on his face. He loves to roll over for extra loving. When he does, he has the cutest mannerisms with his little paws. I tried to catch it in his pictures. Lover Boy has the most incredibly expressive and sweet face. When he smiles, the sun breaks out from behind the clouds, the birds begin to sing and the angels sigh. And he likes to smile a lot. The love oozes from every pore of this little dog.”

Can you stand it? Are you ready to read more about him? Here we go. He is a very small, mellow little guy who gets along with everyone. There aren’t any children in his foster home. But, since he loves every human on this earth, there is no reason to think that he wouldn’t adore them. In fact, he would probably really enjoy dog-savvy children over six who would play with him.

A people person to his core, Lover boy really doesn’t need any other dogs to make him happy. He doesn’t seek them out for play. True to his name, he prefers the girls and will pick a fight with male dogs. His aggressive tendencies have diminished since he was neutered, but he will go at with his foster brothers. It doesn’t happen often, but when there’s a tiff, Lover Boy started it. It’s not a ferocious attack, it’s more like sniping and he is easily stopped. It is possible that with a little more time and a dog-savvy owner, this behavior will extinguish itself. But we really think that if there is another dog, he would do best with a sweet little girlfriend.

The only time when Lover Boy gets growly with people is when his legs are touched while he is on his back, although he rolls over for lovin’ easily. His foster parents are working on this. He’s never had any kind of schooling, having been occupied with his career and living outdoors. His motto is “You can call me anything, but don’t call me late for dinner” and he could easily learn some basic obedience in exchange for tantalizing rewards. He is already crate trained and eats in his crate never showing any food aggression toward people. He is also about ninety percent house trained.

The number one priority in our choice for this wonderful Frenchie’s forever home is someone who has time to give him the sweet lovin’ he is yearning for. With a little spit and polish to his manners, he could easily be a wonderful work companion. Or he would enjoy staying home with you all day, listening to your collection of oldies and smooching. If your family’s life does not feature quite that much home time, he would be okay with a mid-day break as long as there was still plenty of together time. A house would make Lover Boy’s continued potty training easier, but he could live in an apartment too. If there is a house, he loves to run and jump, so a fenced yard is preferred.

Lover Boy’s foster parents can’t stop waxing rhapsodic over his charms. The want to close this piece by adding, “Lover Boy is a great little dog. He is just so darned cute and so freaking lovable. And that face. He seems happy just being alive. He wants to be lying with you on the couch at night. He would probably be a great dog to sleep with, he is very cuddly and loves to be hugged and petted. This truly is the boy that makes the angels sigh.”

Yes, like we said. This sweet baby really is the one. He is the real deal with the funny, loving charm that Frenchies are famous for. Lover Boy is crooning a sweet love song to himself while he waits in northern Florida for his ride to his truly forever home. Won’t you be the one to come get him? Lover Boy will not be shipped.
