Tex Ritter came into FBRN with the other 12 dogs known as the "Texas 13". He was surrendered when the breeder who owned him was downsizing operations. FBRN welcomed Tex and his compadres with open arms, and we’re so happy to see them one by one go off to their forever homes and lives as cherished pets. Now it’s Tex Ritter’s turn!
Tex has a wonderful personality and just loves everyone he meets. He’d be dandy with kids and adults of all ages. He also enjoys the company of cats as well as other dogs. It doesn’t matter the shape, size, or gender; they’re all aces in Tex’s book. Although Tex likes to play and have fun with other dogs, he is a bit of a loner at heart. He likes to hang out on the porch or take naps on the couch. He has occasional bursts of silly Frenchie energy, especially when his people come home, but for the most part, he’s a laid-back boy. He really embraces the slower speed of life of a true Southerner.
Tex is proudly housebroken and crate trained. Like most of us, if he isn’t given enough opportunities to go out, he might have a wee accident, but he is trustworthy when kept on a reasonable schedule. One little quirk of Tex Ritter’s is that he absolutely, positively refuses to go outside in the cold or rain. And really, who could blame him? The poor guy is just miserable in the colder weather and for this reason we would like his forever home to be in the Southern US. He did start life as a Southerner, after all.
Tex really likes to un-stuff stuffies and chew on his Nylabone dinosaurs. He thinks toys are pretty fun and would appreciate some good ones in his forever home. Because of his easygoing attitude, Tex can be happy in almost any living situation with almost any combination of people, dogs and cats. Ideally, he would have one other canine companion and a fenced yard to play in is very much preferred. As long as he gets enough love, attention, and interaction with his people, he’d probably do well as an only dog, too.
Tex would love to have someone home with him during the day or to go to work with his person. He has the kind of winning personality and happy confidence that would have him believing everyone came to work that day just to see him. What a ham!
Tex is a special guy who is just a joy to the world. His foster mom has this to say about him: "Tex Ritter has been a delightful foster. He is easygoing, gets along with everyone and everything and is an old soul. Very gentle, very happy, a smiley boy. I want him to go to a home where he is treated very special and can be a part of the family. Some family is going to be oh-so-lucky to get to be the forever home for this sweet guy."
If you think you might be the right fit for Tex Ritter, put in your application now. If you’re lucky enough to be chosen, get ready to plan that trip to sunny Florida! Tex Ritter is being fostered there, and he will not be shipped.
