Perhaps you’ve heard people who already own Frenchies argue that their snoring is a relaxing white noise experience conducive to sleeping soundly. If you subscribe to the idea that amplified Frenchie noises are wonderful, we have a lovely freight-train inspired girl waiting to fill your nights with the soundtrack for your dreams.

Tilde Lulu started her life in a Midwestern puppy mill, and was then unceremoniously dumped at a local shelter when she was discovered to be a poor money maker. Life started to look up when she was adopted, but not for long. Tilde was promptly returned. Lucky Tilde! She is now safe in her foster home and ready to embark on a brand spankin’ new life!

While in foster care, Tile has undergone surgery to correct her nares and palate. Her larynx has extra tissue surrounding it, which causes her to become winded more easily than most Frenchies. There is the possibility that if it gets worse she will require surgery, but for now it’s not necessary as the risks outweigh the benefit. Tilde has allergy flare-ups, and ear infections seem to be the first warning that there’s a flare-up on the way. Allergy shots work well to control her itchies, and she will obsessively lick her paws without the shots.

Tilde Lulu absolutely loves children! At the sight of them her little butt wiggles, and she is always happy to be around them. She is fantastic with kids of all ages, and with proper adult supervision, Tilde enjoys the company of even teeny tiny tots. We will warn that she’s positively clumsy and often falls when trying to jump up, or in the middle of doing some zoomies around the living room. She will not teach children how to be graceful, but she will give them some good laughs.

As a result of her first few years of life, Tilde does not like unknown dogs. She would be happiest being an only dog, but during her time in foster care, she’s proven that if given direction and time to adjust, she can peacefully co-exist with another mellow dog like the resident Boston Terrier in her foster home. When they encounter other dogs when out on walks, her foster mom distracts Tilde so she doesn’t get worked up. She may okay with another dog, but only if the potential adopter is a very confident leader, otherwise it’s best that she is an only dog.

Ironically, Tilde loves the resident cat in her foster home. She gives it a daily bath, and doesn’t complain if the kitty climbs and claws all over her. Some things, we’ll just never understand.

Tilde does a mean Elvis impersonation. Whenever she’s excited her lip starts to quiver and her butt starts swinging from side to side. Suspiciously, this Elvis-like behavior is most frequently seen when she’s done something naughty and is on the verge of being scolded. Next thing, the only sound coming out of her foster mom is the song “You ain’t nothing but a hound dog” and just like that, Tilde is no longer in trouble.

When it comes to housebreaking, Tilde averages about a 90% success rate. Her new home should have a doggy door, because she uses it well, and needs to go out every 3-5 hours. The other 10% comes into play because she hates rain, and on rainy days any rug or towel is fair game for this princess. Foster mom has taught Tilde a few basic obedience commands using lots of treats and praise. This little girl just wants to please her people, and is eager to do the right thing- most of the time.

Ideally, Tilde would love to join and family that includes children, though she would also love an older person or two. She would be fine in a condo or house, as long as she has access to a doggy door and a secure fenced yard, because she must go out every 3-5 hours.

Tilde is not crate-trained, and after her start in a puppy mill, we’d prefer that a crate not be used with her . As long as the home is dog-proofed, she does well having free range. Any trash cans must be well-secured, because she will knock down a trash can in an instant in order to rummage through and find something nice and stinky to eat.

She’s well-behaved, so she could easily adjust to being an office dog, as long as there are no other dogs around. She would be fine waiting for her people to come home from work as long as she has a doggy door.

Here’s a word from her enamored foster mom:

“Tilde is a wonderful girl. The only setback is her inability to be around other dogs, but she deserves to be a spoiled queen anyway! She loves to cuddle and follow you around, does well in the car, loves kids, doesn’t mind baths, and there isn’t a person she hasn’t made immediate friends with! I hope she finds a home with a good sense of humor and lots of room in their bed. “
