When you hear the name Tyson, does it make you think of the champion prizefighter, "Iron Mike"? Well, if that is what you are looking for, then this dog is not the Frenchie for you. Our sweet Tyson is the polar opposite of the famed pugnacious pugilist. He likes to make love, not war. And our Tyson has better teeth!

Tyson is a happy, healthy, shiny brindle 6 year-old Frenchie who acts much younger than he is! He came into FBRN due to a previous owner's move. He is a tall Frenchie, most likely a European import. He has the most endearing underbite, and now his pearly whites are gorgeous due to his recent dental, courtesy of FBRN! "Look Ma, no cavities!"

He likes children, so he would love to find a forever home with some small people in residence. And he loves dogs! Tyson lives to play, so he would really like at least one canine buddy in his forever home to pal around with! Kitties, we're not sure about, but since he does have a strong prey drive (oh, how he would LOVE to catch a squirrel!) we'll say no.

Tyson has a little separation anxiety. It helps him to have another dog around, it seems to calm him. He is one of those loyal Frenchies that wants to be with his people all the time. He’s very mellow. He could go to work with someone, or stay home during the day - as long as he gets a mid-day break or has a doggie door and another dog at home for company. He could easily be a city dog, as long as he gets two good walks a day. He lives for his walks! He must be kept on a leash, or in a fenced yard, as he will bolt and run. He loves a car ride, especially when he can look out the front window!

Here are a few words from his foster mama about the fun-loving Tyson: "He has no issues, no aggression at all, loves dogs, kids, riding in the car, and sleeping in bed with his people. He has a special sound he makes when he wants to go under the covers! At no other time do you hear this sound. We think he watches TV! He really seems to gravitate towards men. He absolutely FELL IN LOVE with our 25 year-old son, who was home on holiday. Everyone who has met Tyson has absolutely fallen in love with him. Tyson is one cool dude, and you’ll be lucky if you are selected to be his forever family!"

Tyson is very smart! He knows many commands, including: sit, shake, up, down, and roll over. He uses the dog door in his foster home, and takes his treats from you as gentle as can be. He doesn’t fetch or play with toys, but he does love to play with other dogs! If he is feeling nervous, he can be a 'humper', but that habit has diminished as he’s been in foster care. He also likes to "jump" up on people to greet them when he meets them. We're working on that!

Tyson hates a crate. No crates for Tyson, please. We insist.

If you live in a home, then a fenced yard is a must – he does try to bolt out the door. He does well with the fenced yard and dog door he has in foster care. When he goes out to do his business, he comes right back in. He also loves to sit and watch the world go by from the glass front door of his foster home. Then he races back through the house, out the doggie door to the backyard, and goes to the fence to check out other people walking their dogs. Then he races back in to start the process all over again!

If you don’t walk your dogs, or let them sleep in bed with you, you needn’t apply for Tyson. This is an easy-going fella with few requirements, but these two things give him the most joy in life so we’re going to be firm about them. He's a good boy and he deserves it.
