Little Diego is a cute-as-a-button frog, with looks and personality to spare. He was purchased at five months old and received the best of care from his loving family. Suddenly and inexplicably, he started aggressively attacking the family's other frenchie. Then he attacked the mom. The family did everything they could think of to solve this adorable boy's problems (including professional training), but with no success. Finally, they made the difficult decision to surrender Diego to FBRN.
This dear lad has been in foster care for several months, and is making progress in resolving his bouts of rage. Like other reactive/aggressive frenchies, his attacks which initially seemed unprovoked can be linked to triggers. It takes a lot of time and patience to find the triggers and desensitize the dog to them. In Diego's case, unfamiliar objects, sudden noises, or body movements can set off an episode.
With the help of his wonderful foster mom, an animal behaviorist, and input from FBRN's own trainers we are finding the keys to what makes this little boy tick. His outbursts are less frequent. He is getting along well with the resident dogs in his foster home, although his puppy energy wears them out! He loooves his toys, and watching him play is so entertaining! He also enjoys walks and does nicely on leash, politely sitting to let his humans go through doors first.
This is a charming little companion who wants to be loved. He even donned a Halloween costume to show us what a good sport he is! If you'd like to help Diego along his path to self-improvement, click on his picture to the right. He could use your support!
