What is animated, yet alive, and about as cute as your favorite cartoon character? There's an easy answer to this riddle! It's FBRN's new foster, Disney, who sports a spot shaped like a certain very famous mouse on her back. She has the same big ears and curious little head tilt too! She was surrendered to FBRN by a caring family who could no longer keep up with her medical expenses. With itchy skin since she was a puppy, two-year-old Disney currently has a staph infection, so an aggressive medical plan is required to get matters under control.
Disney's foster dad got right to work, switching her to a raw diet and slathering her with soothing calendula gel. He dressed her in a stylish girlie Tee to keep her from scratching herself raw, and whisked her to an experienced Frenchie vet post-haste. Demodex was ruled out, and the proper meds for the infection were prescribed and have already made a difference in her comfort level.
The next two weeks will be a period of treatment and recuperation for little Disney while she waits for her next vet appointment. Her foster dad is keeping her very busy with walks, and toys, and naps, and eating, and cuddling, and more walks! Though we've yet to see it, Disney is reportedly excellent with children. What little kid wouldn't be delighted by her very special spot?! She's a darling girl, but not so cute is her bad habit of lunging at other dogs and snapping unprovoked. She is bright and willing, though, and her foster dad feels confident that this problem can be resolved.
Disney is going to be around for a while so we can to get to the root cause of her skin problems and her dog aggression. She also has an unusual gait that should be checked out, and she needs to be spayed.
