We have a showstopper amongst us. Remember Link from the movie / play Hairspray? The hippest, hunkiest heart throb who sings and dances? Well, FBRN has our own Link and he is a true hunk of a manly man.

Link is a one and a half year old, skinny, neutered brindle pied. We guarantee he will be gaining weight in foster care: he barely tips the scales at 18 pounds! Blood tests will help determine whether there are any organic reasons for his super svelte size.

Link was an owner surrender, and his past has some gray areas. He was purchased at the same time as a Boston terrier puppy but soon became an out of control Alpha dog. He is rumored to have: bitten a child, been uncontrollable in the house, to not be housebroken and to be a challenging Frenchie. Link attended a training kennel on two separate occasions, but remained unruly. His owner felt FBRN would be better equipped to give Link some one on one rehabilitation and foster care. Link attended the New England Frenchie Social and was observed by two dog trainers participating in the event. They agreed that Link's a good boy who needs a home providing time and consistency. That's what he'll get in his foster home.

Link has already had his first visit to the vet for a checkup. Aside from yeasty infections in his ears and the weight issue, all seems normal.

He seems to be enjoying the time and attention in foster care, he has been washed and fluffed, trimmed and brushed. He enjoys the other Frenchies in his foster home and has been gracious towards the cat. His prefers to be out and about, of course, but he handles crating with dignity, giving only a whimper or two before settling down.

Link has his work cut out for him in the areas of socialization and control issues. He is very uncomfortable if he senses bad vibes from another dog or sudden movements from strangers. Luckily, his foster mom stays a step ahead and knows how to assess the situation and control and redirect Link, enabling him to refocus and make good choices. Yes, it will take some time, work and energy to turn this boy around but he is so deserving. Please, if you want to help a misunderstood young Frenchie embark on a new life, sponsor him by clicking on his photo.
