Tiny Millicent has made her way to FBRN as a consequence of a nasty problem: rectal prolapse. We are seeing more and more of this condition, and more and more issues with intestinal problems, including colitis and awful diarrhea. Many owners' vets are being stumped by the causes and their distraught owners are turning to FBRN as a last resort after one or more failed surgeries to correct the prolapse. Millicent is being tested now for histoplasmosis, a serious but treatable condition. She's fostering with a vet now, and when Millicent was left, the techs were taking turns snuggling her and cuddling with her, so we have no doubt that she'll be well socialized by the time she is ready for a home!
We are hoping for a good outcome for Millicent. We know you are, too. If you'd like to sponsor her, please click on the sponsor button. And please keep a good thought. |
