Nehemiah has crossed the Rainbow Bridge

The first image we have of Nehemiah is stuck in our memory. Sad, rail thin, pleading -- he is looking up at the camera from a shelter cage. He has a blanket and a toy, but diarrhea has soiled them. We had to go get him. FBRN is always grateful when a shelter gives us the opportunity to help a little frog. Found as a stray, he was intact and it is probable that he was a breeder castoff from a puppy mill. The shelter took care of his basic needs by neutering him and giving him shots. He also received medications for his ears and loose stools.

Cuddled in the arms of his foster dad, Nehemiah still has a worried look but he loves being held and protected. He also adores his foster brother, FBRN’s Obadiah. He’s been to our vet and now has a whole medicine chest worth of pills and liquids to help his poor digestive system. Delicious home-cooked rice and hamburger meals are an enjoyable part of his treatment. The diarrhea is slowing down, and his caring foster mom says she doesn’t mind a little extra mopping.

Nehemiah is a good, loving boy who only wants a chance to be someone’s dearest companion. We’re hoping his medications resolve his tummy problems so he can put some meat on those little bones and add gloss to his dry, dull coat. Please help us to replace that piteous first picture with a smiling “forever home” shot. We’ll sleep better, and so will you. Please click on Nehemiah’s little face to the right to help him on his way to better times.
