Revo is back with FBRN and spending some time in the Big Apple with his foster dad. Although very, very sad to return him to FBRN, Revo’s adopters felt it was the only option when he didn’t get along with his new sister, another FBRN grad. In some ways, dogs are just like people. We don’t like everyone we meet, and sometimes, we can be a bit rude in those cases. Our behavior can become worse when we’re around the objects of our dislike, and that seemed to be the case with Revo and his new sister. Unfortunately, the dislike escalated, and the two had more than one falling out. As you can imagine, it has become a stressful situation for everyone involved, so Revo is back again to work on becoming a more balanced Frenchie and to look for a more perfect fit for his personality.
While he’s in FBRN, Revo’s foster dad will be working with him on lowering his excitability and reducing his reactivity to other dogs and cats. This should also help with any redirecting or guarding behaviors he may develop. Keeping Revo calm, cool, and collected regardless of the stimulus is the ultimate goal. Gosh, that sounds like a pretty good goal for just about anybody! Most importantly, Revo will be getting lots of long walks—good exercise and lots of mental stimulation can go a long way to making a happier dog.
Revo is in great shape in terms of his health, though it does seem that he does best on a raw diet. Off of this, he can get some intestinal issues. Other than that, he’s fit as a fiddle. And handsome! Whew, this boy is one handsome devil! He is incredibly affectionate, wonderfully content to hang out on a lap and be loved on for hours on end.
Revo’s working on polite leash walking and some other basic skill training, so he’s going to have quite the impressive resume when he’s ready once again to look for his new home. Revo is truly a great guy with just a few kinks to work out before he’ll be perfect in the right situation. Keep an eye out for Revo coming soon to an Available page near you. In the meantime, if you can spare a little cash to help him on his way, click on his beautiful little face and make a donation! Don’t forget to let us know it’s for Revo! |
