In Memory of Romeo
9/21/97 - 9/28/04

My Bullmastiff, Romeo was as gentle as he was big; always ready to welcome a foster - male, female, Frenchie, Mastiff or cat - it made no difference to him. He was always ready to share his bed or water bowl.

Not only was he my companion and protector, he was my working partner. "Education Officer" Romeo helped teach over 50,000 children and adults in the proper care of and safety around animals as he accompanied me to schools representing the county police department/animal control division. He knew the program so well I hardly ever had to give him a command in the classroom. He either moved when he was supposed to just by hearing the right word spoken or I just had to look his way and he instantly knew what was expected of him. Everybody who met him fell instantly in love but Romeo only had eyes for me. As far as he was concerned, I was the sun and sky. No wonder we all love our dogs so!

What can I say for his memorial? I'm not that good with words. He was my big, gentle, honorary Frenchie and I loved him very much.

My husband Bob and I adored Romeo and there's a hole in my heart that will never quite heal. I'll miss him for the rest of my days.
