In Memory of Bouli
May 26, 1994 - March 4, 2005

Bouli came to live with us when she was 8 & 1/2 years old. She was my boy Max’s mother, and I wanted to thank her for giving life to such a precious boy by providing her with a happy retirement home. Every single day I told her “you did good when you made Max!” and it always thrilled her – she’d dance around and wiggle her little nub of a tail.

“BooBoo” or “Booty” was a funny little girl – always quiet and unassuming unless she got very excited – and then she turned into quite the talker. She was typically very easygoing, but she did have her limits – as P-Beau quickly learned when he tried to take a bone away from her. She won his respect from that day forward! I don’t think Bouli had ever seen a cat before she came here, and for the first several weeks she spent the majority of her time eyeing my cats with a mixture of suspicion and fascination. Eventually she became quite comfortable with them, and would sometimes even let them sleep with her.

Bouli got along well with everyone, but her best friend was her son Max, and they were inseparable. Even though she was getting up in years, she’d race around the house and yard like a puppy playing with him. Everything changed (for all of us) when Max died suddenly in September 2004. Bouli lost her “spark”. She turned back into a little old lady and began to spend more and more of her time sleeping, and died in her sleep just a few months shy of her 11th birthday.

I’m so grateful that Bouli spent time here with us – and for one final time, I have to say “Booty, you did good when you made Max!…"
