In Memory of Gabby
1996-2006

It is with great sadness that we lost Gabby today following her two year battle with cancer. She seemed to have a very good quality of life these last two years even following the loss of her leg and the chemo treatments; it wasn't until recently that the cancer spread to her lungs and this is what finally proved too much for her. Even as we were contemplating whether to make that final vet visit, she passed away in Kathleen's arms at home this morning, just as Sweet Pea, her friend and roommate did five years ago. I can only now hope that the two of them are once again playing together, each with all fours.

Gabby was ~ 10 y.o. this summer. She was rescued at approximately 1 y.o. in August of 1997. She came to live with us on Thanksgiving of 2000 about 6 months before we lost Sweet Pea that following year. Since then, she also acquired a good playmate and roomie, "Rebel" who was rescued and adopted in 2003. Both soon became good friends.

Gabby also opened her heart and home up once more last fall when "Mickey", our little blind rescued Boston Terrier came along.

Thankfully, we still have Rebel and Mickey to keep us busy, but our home will never quite be the same again without our Gabby. Kathleen and I love her and we miss her very much.
