In Memory of Mimi

December 2006 was particularly difficult for Mimi’s forever family, as they lost their wonderful FBRN graduate only two weeks following the passing of their equally beloved frenchie, Piggy (Tank). Mimi’s mom shared this profile of Mimi with us: I know a lot of people are new and never had the opportunity to know Mimi so I thought I would write to tell everyone how special she was. I adopted Mimi in Oct. 2003 and was honored to be chosen for her. She had some ailments; Horner’s Syndrome which caused paralysis on the right side of her face, allergies and ear trouble, which left her deaf in her last year. Some people wouldn't consider her perfect. She was to me. She was the gentlest dog you have ever seen. She was so quiet you could sometimes forget she was in the same room with you even with her snuggled up next to you on the couch. She loved everyone and was loved by many. Mimi participated in three rescue parades. One year she stopped at each chair surrounding the ring to greet all the people personally. I thought we would never get out of the ring! Though Mimi is gone I will always have my memories of her. Right now I have a broken heart and tears in my eyes. Thank you all for your kind words and poems. Mimi and Piggy may you both rest in peace. I know I will see you both again one day.
