In Memory of Aurora

A tearful note to let you know our little girl passed away Friday, April 27th. I have sat down to write this many times but the heartache is too fresh... But here is a little bit about our girl:

Sweet little Aurora came into our lives Jan. 2003. As she lay snoring at my feet on the flight home, I had no idea how blessed I was about to become. She was my shadow, my reason for getting up several times in the night for potty, my welcoming committee when I came home... my little girl.

How can I begin to sum up four wonderful years? -trips to the Oregon coast, car rides with her desperately trying to fit on the dashboard, the funny noise she made when you fed her a treat, holding an umbrella over her as she went potty outside during the rainy Washington state winters (much to the amusement of my husband and neighbors!), an endless supply of stinky kisses and sneezes on my glasses, serenading us with her snores, hearing her bark from her vigilant watch on the back of the couch when I pulled into the driveway, "Getting Daddy" as she barked and acted tough up on the bed, The Stink Eye, the various "yoga" positions she would manuver herself into while sleeping with her pug brother on the couch or in the massage chair... yep, little "Rori Monster" wiggled her way into our hearts and made our family complete. Despite her bouts with mast cancer, "old bones", and previous neglect, our little girl was all love. She taught us and everyone that met her, the joy and reward of rescue/adoption.

Rest in peace my sweet little sausage.

love,
Your heartbroken family:
Jodi, Skott, and Confuscious Shaw
