In Memory of Emma

Although not a Frenchie, Emma was just as precious. She was the quiet one who chose to find a cool spot on the tile floor even in the dead of winter. As one of 4 Cav's, she was always ready to give you the big hug and lots of nose kisses when you came home. She was also a twirly-girl, spinning in circles on her butt while smacking her lips. Lord knows why but she was scared of the sound of rain, thunder and lighting. She was a special girl, always ready for a good nap.

Even after she developed Cushing's disease 4 years ago she was never in a bad mood. Through the dozens of visits to 3 different vets with all of poking, prodding, drawing blood, and the numerous skin scrapings and biopsy's, she never complained. Everybody loved her so much including her dermatologist who featured Emma's picture on her web site. The ever present skin lesions, constant medicated baths and prescription drugs she endured over the years sometimes worked, but in the end it was just too much for her. During her last 2 weeks she was animated and more loving then ever. It was as if she knew her time with us was drawing to a close. One night she went downstairs, found a cool spot on the basement floor, stretched out to go to sleep and quietly left us.

It's been weeks since you left and we are still crying. Yesterday the vet called and told us your ashes arrived and soon you will join your sisters in the garden. You were the sweetest dog any of us have ever known, a truly gentle soul. We will miss you forever but I hear there is no sickness where you have gone and you deserve that. Rest in peace my Bumble Bear.
