In Memory of Luna

Aug 1, 2007, FBRN received an angel in Colorado. Luna was temporally fostered by some wonderful volunteers, but their dog didn’t appreciate Luna’s youthful beauty and enthusiasm. Saturday, August 4th, these wonderful people brought her to me on the other end of the state. She was a 6 month old black mask fawn girl. I knew she had a heart problem and was on medication, I just didn't know how bad her little heart was. Monday the 6th, she was in ICU. She wasn't expected to make it, her tummy was full of fluid and it was interfering with her heart and lungs.

They decided to remove some of the fluid and she rallied. I got to bring Luna back home. She had a little more energy than she had previously and tried to play with the resident dogs, but her favorite place was snuggled in a human’s lap. She got to stay with us for 8 more days. On Aug 15, Luna couldn't stay with us any longer. Her heart just wasn't strong enough. Luna is missed. She took a piece of our hearts with her to the Rainbow Bridge.
