In Memory of Quincy-Bouvier

Quincy Bouvier was born Jan. 4, 1996 and passed away Nov. 21, 2007 after a happy, largely healthy, pampered life. (I adopted him on March 12, 1996.)

Ultimately, Quincy was diagnosed with lymphoma in Nov. 2006, but thanks to excellent care delivered by an animal neurologist located in the area, he rallied spectacularly, going into remission. We had a happy additional year together as a result. During that time, while he was responding to medication, he was vibrant, alert and close to 95% normal -- just the normal signs of aging and slowing down. In Dec. 2006, we traveled by car to Birmingham, Ala., to visit my family and we had a great visit -- a holiday trip I will treasure forever. This photo was made at my mother's house during that road trip (yes, his grandma allowed him to sleep on her sofa -- there was no stopping it!)

Unfortunately, the lymphoma returned in Nov. 2007 and while we tried chemotherapy treatment again, he was not responding this time around and given his age, it was time to say "farewell." I know he is up in heaven appreciating the help you give to his cousins and other relatives in the French bulldog family!
