In Memory of Rebel

2/17/95 - 7/13/07
It is with a very heavy heart that I write about the passing of our little Rebel today at age 12 1/2.
Rebel, and his 'housemate' Mattie, were both rescued by us in February 2003 when his former owner died from shovelling snow. He was so forlorn when I first brought him home; I'll never forget the look on his face:

In order to try to cheer him, I kept him beside me in the den where we soon bonded and a couple of months later we adopted him. He had just turned eight then but in his younger days he attended several dog shows as "Cajun's Carbon Copy". While living with us, Rebel got to make friends with several other dogs who passed through our home as fosters (including Sugar, Clyde, and Petey, and Buddy), with Mattie, his former 'house mate' and

with our other dogs which included Gabby, Mickey, and most recently, Abby, even if for only for a month.
Even in his golden years, he was always the star of the show wherever he went, and he will be sorely missed by all of us.

God speed, my boy, and say 'hi' to Pal, Sweet Pea, Gabby, Clyde, and Churchill for us.
