Felicia has come a long way to make her debut on the Available page after entering FBRN’s care when she was left at a veterinary clinic in need of emergency surgery, with only 30 minutes to decide whether her life could be saved. Thankfully, FBRN stepped in and gave this little lady the chance she deserved.

After leaving the commercial breeding facility where she previously lived, Felicia has been making up for lost time. She approaches life with enthusiasm and has two speeds: full throttle or snuggled up beside her people. Like many French bulldogs, she loves being part of whatever is happening around her and is happiest when she can keep her family in sight.

Felicia enjoys walks and outdoor adventures, though she believes every interesting scent deserves an enthusiastic dash to investigate. Her foster family continues to work with her on leash manners so everyone can enjoy a more relaxed pace.

Felicia does well with children and enjoys the company of other dogs. However, toys and food can become high value items for her, particularly when they belong to someone else. Felicia does have some resource guarding tendencies and will need a confident adopter who can provide structure and clear boundaries. Feeding should take place separately from other pets to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

Felicia is crate trained and mostly potty trained, though she may occasionally forget to ask to go outside when she is busy playing.

Felicia could adapt well to many types of homes. If she shares her home with another dog, a laid back and patient companion would likely be the best match, as her enthusiasm may not appeal to every dog. First time Frenchie owners could also be a good fit if they are prepared to provide patience, structure, and consistency.

Her foster family shares, “Felicia is absolutely beautiful. Her blue brindle coat and expressive face capture everything people love about French Bulldogs. At just 21 pounds, she is tiny and easy to cuddle. Sit down and she will happily jump into your lap. Pick up a toy and she is ready to play. She enjoys games like fetch and tug of war, though after a few minutes she is usually ready to relax again. As she continues to build stamina she may play longer, but her family should always be mindful of her sensitivity to heat.”
