Cute as a button and sweeter than a pumpkin spice latte, it’s Calder! We are so happy to welcome this handsome boy to FBRN, and can’t wait to get him all spiffed up and ready for a forever home of his very own.

Calder was surrendered to a local shelter after the cost of treating his allergies became too much for his previous owners. Poor Calder is a very, very itchy boy, with sparse hair and skin covered in sores from scratching. Frequent infections have caused his ear canals to cauliflower, and he has an infected ingrown toenail to boot. Luckily, a combination of Apoquel and prescription food is already helping his skin heal, and we’ll be finding out shortly what kind of treatment will be necessary for those poor ears.

Despite being terribly uncomfortable, Calder radiates sweetness and Frenchie sass. At only three years old, he has energy to spare and then some! He adores every person he meets, but foster mom will be working with him on how to demonstrate that love in a less exuberant fashion (i.e., without jumping and nibbling on fingers).

We’re not sure yet whether Calder will need surgery on his ears, but if it does, it will be expensive.
