Update on 04-16-2022 : Kitana exhibited some new behavior challenges, and while we know you’ll be disappointed, it’s best if she spends more time in foster care for further evaluation before moving along to the available page.

Please give a warm welcome to 6-year-old brindle girl, Kitana! This cutie was surrendered by her previous owners after they added a baby to the family and realized Kitana was no longer getting the attention she deserved.

Kitana loves people and warmed up quickly to her foster parents. She does not like to be alone and wishes to have her humans around as much as possible. Also in true Frenchie-diva style, Kitana wishes to always be the center of attention! As a result of this diva-ness, Kitana developed some bad behaviors, such as nipping at ankles when she wanted her human’s attention.

Kitana is very good about letting her foster family know when she has to go potty and she hasn’t had a single accident in her foster home. What a good girl! She’s also crate trained and doesn’t bark or fuss the whole night. Kitana is full of energy and loves to play, but she plays too roughly for small children. Due to FBRN’s slow introduction policy, Kitana hasn’t met the resident dogs yet. However, she’s shown some reactivity when seeing other dogs while out on a walk. Her foster family is working on this behavior and notes that Kitana is very food motivated.

Health-wise, it seems that Kitana has mild allergies that we hope that will be remedied with a change in diet. We’ll have much more to report on this beautiful brindle girl soon. In the meantime, her foster family will be working on her socialization and she will be getting a full veterinary exam.
