The FBRN forecast is predicting some Rayne this week…not the kind that comes from the sky, but the golden-pied, bat-eared variety. Please give a warm welcome to our newest little dewdrop, Rayne!

Rayne is one of three breeder mamas who was surrendered to FBRN, and she is by far the most timid. At just three years old, she is a sweet, gentle dog who never learned how to be a pet. Unfamiliar noises and movements make her quiver and cower, she shows no interest in toys, and she doesn’t yet understand that human hands are for pets and belly rubs. Fortunately, Rayne’s foster mom has the patience of a million saints and is slowly coaxing this shy girl out of her shell. We can’t wait to see her inevitable transformation into a true Frenchie princess!

While foster mom tends to her spirit, Rayne’s veterinarian will be addressing her health issues. Rayne’s inner ears are swollen and cauliflowered, and her patchy fur and constant paw-licking are tell-tale signs of untreated allergies. Regular baths have already brought back some shine to her fur, and we expect that a good diet and some appropriate medications will get Rayne even more comfortable in her fuzzy skin.
